Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 17Good Location
If you don't know where to go in Tokyo, this is a great central location close to the premium shopping Tokyo has to offer and just a few blocks from Ginza Station. The rooms are VERY small but that is normal by tokyo standards. The bathroom is nice and the staff did their best but spoke very little english.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 17Great Location, Room is quite spacious
We spent two nights in this hotel. The room was bigger than in many other hotels in Japan, and the location was very good. The only issue is that Google Maps don't give you the right location for this hotel, so it's a bit hard to find for the first time.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 17Good value for a reasonably sized room
The Monterey Ginza room was a reasonable size for a single person. Generous compared so some other single rooms I enjoyed in Japan. Very nicely appointed with space for a small table and chair. I ended my trip here and needed to spread out and repack and there was plenty of room for this. The hotel has access to several Metro lines and the JR Yamanote line which was very handy as I used up the last two days of my JR Rail Pass. It is a short walk to the Kabuki Za theater which was a plus for me. If you are a 5th Avenue shopper you will like the neighborhood as well, but most of the stores here are in the US & Europe.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 17What we expected.
Hotel Monterey Ginza is a nice, french inspired hotel in the ginza area of tokyo, close to yarakucho station (about three blocks). The hotel was pretty much worth the price. Our room was clean and was maintained well during our stay. Amenities were average; minibar, tv, etc. All in all a good experience, but nothing that would make it stand out ahead of a competing hotel. Great location though. A great value for a business trip, or to save some money for the very expensive ginza neighborhood.

This is a nice hotel in Ginza for the price, 5 or so blocks from the Yurakucho JR station.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 17Conveniently located to major shopping area and a subway station
The hotel is located next to the subway station, Ginza 1-chome (Yurakucho line) and 5 minutes walk to JR Yurakuchou. It is walking distance to Imperial Palace, Hibiya and Ginza Shopping district.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 17Excellent Hotel
The room was very clean. I am tall and everything fit fine. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They supplied a local map to make returning to the hotel easier. It was near the metro areas. Finding food was easy and near by. Nice convenient clock/alarm in the headboard. The only draw back was a lack of electrical sockets in the room. I wanted two, one for ipod and one for mini-speakers. I found only one in the bathroom. I used batteries for the speakers.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 17Closet size rooms but good everyway else
The single room was the size of a large closet - just enough space for a bed and a narrow walking aisle next to it. Other than the cramped space, it was a clean, friendly and good hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 17tokyo's hidden boutique hotel
This hotel was like a little gem in the Ginza district of Tokyo. It may be a little hard to get to for travelers who don't speak japanese, but seriously, it's not unmanageable at all! It's in a great central location for ALL your traveling needs. There are several subway lines that run thru the area and taxi's are readily accessible... beware rates start at 660 yen apprx US$6.00... ouch! For women traveling alone... have no worries this area is extremely safe! The room was nice and clean with everything you need to be comfortable. WAY~ Smaller than your avg. US hotel but it does the works! The bathroom is more like a closet but comes complete with bidet & shower/bath (great water pressure). All in all great experience

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 14 of 17August 2001
The hotel was fine for my partner and myself. The room was a bit small, but probably consistent with other Tokyo hotels. The staff was great with communicating with us, however a bit more English speaking would have been better. The rooms were clean and suitable.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 17Excellent hotel for a foreigner in a foreign land
The Web site provided excellent details on the hotel amenities. I wish the hotel map on the Web site had street information. I had to ask for a bit of help locating the hotel once I got to the Ginza district.
