Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 44Disappointing
I stayed for at Castle Ocean Resort for almost the entire month of August 2009. It was very disappointing. The furnishings, including rugs, drapes and trash receptacles near the elevators, were very shabby. The air conditioning did not seem to stay at a constant temperature, my television remote did not work, and after it was replaced, the television was faulty. In my kitchenette unit, the kithen sink had obviously been leaking for an extended period under the cabinet by the time I reported it. My kitchenette included one free regular coffee filter and one free decaf coffee filter upon check-in, but that was the extent of the complimentary items. But the worst of all, on the morning of our originally scheduled check-out, we were made to feel by one young woman at the front desk that we were being evicted. (The older woman at the front desk, Lynn, was consistently helpful, however.) For the length of time that we stayed in the hotel, I thought we were treated poorly, and I would not recommend this hotel to others.

WE GOT THIS HOTEL BECAUSE IT WAS ECONOMICAL. WE ONLY NEEDED A BED, WHICH WAS GOOD. WE GOT CHARGED $15 A NITE FOR PARKING OUR CAR, I WAS NOT HAPPY.

Hotel was a great location for the money. Upon ariving was asked for a security deposit that if paid in cash would get back at checkout, otherwise 7 to 12 days for atm/credit card refunds. This would have been nice to know before we got there. When entering our room conditions of hotel were poor/old & musty. Our room appeared ok, until noticing alcohol bottles on floor by fridge. That was a big turn off. When we told management there was NO offering of a faster credit of our deposit or different accomadations or anything. I feel this was poor service and based on my experienc would not go back to this hotel again.

Title says it all. If you want to cheap out on your Waikiki experience then I do recommend this hotel. This hotel needs a remodel. From the out dated furniture to the rust lines from the bathroom fixtures. Overall, I would recommend your stay in Waikiki at another hotel for your first visit.

Was a little run down, could use new carpet and paint but was well positioned a few blocks back from the beach. the water views are partially obscurred by the 2 hotels in between the hotel and the water. was decent value for money as the other hotels are expensive in the area but be warned, you get what you pay for.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 44Good value for money
Interior was old & dated but clean. Did not have basic amenities like coffee maker. Parking is expensive and a hassle with cars double-parked and no allocated spaces. Overall, good value for money considering location.

Outdated, dirty, unmaintained. Pool area astrograss torn and needing replacement. Cleaning staff unpredictable in cleaning times - entering room early morning before we could leave and cleaning around us or not coming until very late in day. Very minimal cleaning done - beds were made, but bathroom not cleaned.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 44A picture is not worth one word
The hotel pictures are very deceiving and as for the rooms, they are falling apart at the seams. The more you inspect the worst it gets. Window slates in the restroom leave little to the neighbors imagination not to mention the slamming noise they made during the night. First night hotel room was a nightmare, the kids woke up feeling sick from wind entering through the bathroom window and the giant opening under the front room door. The next night we requested another room and were we accommodated with a better room but was still not what was pictured. Tons of street noise, close to nothing if you did not rent a car and neighborhood seemed really uneasy and unsettling at night. Thumbs way down!! My advise to you, stay away from the Castle.
