Very dirty!

Room was dirty. The headboard had a "mystery" stain that looked like something that I don't even want to think about. The balcony floor was dirty with old matches and cigarette butts all over. Would never stay here again!

Over-rated

This hotel is overrated. The room was very small. The renovation appeared to have not paid attention to detail, e.g., ceiling tiles over closet in bad shape, pieces of the grout joints between the bath tub and tile missing and or not clean, water does not drain on the floor outside the tub leaving water puddles after taking shower without shower curtain, bathroom door frame painted over rust. The room did not have all of the items that are supposed to be in the room, e.g., bath robes. Fee for parking (valet) at $35 plus $5 for tax per day is way too high even for San Francisco. Explanations given for alternate parking was very confusing. We expected much better.

a scam

I use to stay at this hotel all the time when it was the Miyako and it was very nice. Now it has gone down hill in general. That's not the problem. They think because I booked with this web-sight and payed approximately $25 less the the other guest, They tried to treat me like dirt. In stead of putting me in the hotel they sent me to a service elevator to the annex.(floors 2,3) which I believe was a convalescent hotel for elderly Japanese last time I was there. It was run down and filthy like a tenderloin flop house. I complained and was put into the proper hotel after some fuming by the desk clerk.

An Okay Hotel

The hotel is a bit rundown. We didn't get the advertised tea service upon check-in. It is picturesque but they could use a refurbishing or a renovation. And better housekeeping. We had to look for some things that went missing (our toddler's the suspect, not the hotel), and we found crayons, used tissue under the bed. Ew. WE didn't see that until towards the end fortunately, so I wasn't totally weirded out.

Kabuki was decent

My stay at Kabuki hotel was pretty good. I think someone hard to please would give it a 3 out of 5 and someone easy to please would give it a 5 out of 5, so I'm right in between. The hotel was pretty easy to find and the parking is not that difficult, but it is a little pricey. I parked below the hotel for the cost of $16 a day. Check in was very simple and the staff was nice. The room was just a little dirty. The 2 bathroom doors had some stains on them and the sink had a couple hairs in it. Oh and they didn't leave the bath salts for the hot tub on the first day. The rest of the room was good and free internet was great. I think the hotel's location is just a little too far from downtown if you want to walk (unless you really like walking), so I always drove places. If you don't have a car, I think the only options are bus or taxi. The hotel is right next to a couple malls that have a ton of Japanese and Korean restaurants and even a couple Chinese. Lots of little shops in the area as well. I think my experience at Kabuki was good, but I know I won't stay there again. If I go back, I think I will stay somewhere in downtown.

Needs Improvement

The room was not ready as reserved ( I reserved Corner King with Japanese bath tub. But the reserved room was without Japanese bath tub. Finally, I got the room with Japanese bath tub, but not Corner King). Reception was not friendly, but bureaucratic.

Hotel Kabuki

The Hotel Kabuki has been around for some time, and it shows. The lobby is still beautiful, but the renovated rooms still need some work.

Overall a nice hotel, however bed size does matter!

The overall hotel experience was good. I paid for a king size bed, but was given a full size bed. I was told the bed was queen size, it wasn't, but I was given a choice to move to another room... two full size beds. I was traveling with my daughter and opted for one bed. The rooms were nice and clean, but there wasn't a table for the room service. The bath was an awesome size, and the staff was polite. It was a busy weekend, so perhaps they may have accomodated better had there been more available. However, if a king bed is specified, it should be made clear there are none available before booking and paying. A little compensation for the inconvenience would have been nice.

this was absolutely horrific

I had a very terrible stay here - the room was still dirty, there was dust in teh cupboards and the rooms was TINY. The service staff were completely unhelpful - they were not able to send a cleaner until the morning, and when I asked for another room they gave me a key and told me to go and take a look at it myself. I was horrified. This has to be one of the worst hotel experiences of my life!!! DON"T GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old & Tired

We were here for a wedding reception that was held at this hotel. Bads: ~ There was a parking charge ~ The hotel was old and tired ~ The rooms were even more old and tired ~ The rooms needed to be updated as the fixtures and plumbing in the bathroom were from the 80s (needed recaulking, replacement, leaks, broken hardware, mildewy, etc.) ~ We had the executive level floor with breakfast included but breakfast was nowhere to be found and the front desk clerk mentioned nothing of the sort upon check-in Goods: ~ Sleep number bed ~ Updated linens I personally would not have stayed here if the venue was not set at this hotel. I would not stay here again considering the price we paid for our stay.
