Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 34Good location
The hotel is aweful, but the location was perfect. Super close to the beach & starbucks. The room is pretty dirty, and the 'lanai' is just a super tiny balcony we used for drying our bathing suits & towels. We got the 18 floor, the view was great, but the elevator was very slow and didn't seem to be in the perfect working condition. The pool, looks more like a large hot tub, the deck was also pretty messy. All in all very ghetto hotel with a good location. It's semi cheap, but I found better hotels with the same price, except they were booked up during our trip. One cool thing is that they allow 3 adults in one room without charging for the roll away bed. Oh, and the shower is a nightmare for tall people & the water pressure isn't good at all.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 34Not a "bad" place to crash ONLY!
The location is really good right next to the strip and the beach, zoo, and diamond head. But there is no AC, the hotel looks a little grungy, and the hall ways smell like smoke. But it depends on how cheap you can get a room for, but all in all its not a bad place to just "crash" after a long day or night out on the island, but keep in mind if your not on the windward side your going to wake up sweating.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 34Close to beach
We loved the view. Got a room on a high floor and at the end. Could see Diamond Head and the beach. Best part of the room. Block off beach.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 34Horrible
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The carpet in the room was covered in stains, the bed did not have any fitted sheets, the blankets were dirty, the shower head was so low I had to kneel down to wash my hair, no fridge, and our non smoking room smelled like smoke. The whole non smoking floor smelled like smoke.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 34In need of HGTV .... "renovation"
Staying in Hawaii was a great experience. The Wikii area was a convenient place to shop and a place to hit the beach. Our stay at the hotel was however, not so grand. I read a review of hearing monkey's at a near by zoo and sure enough what woke us up our first and second night .... monkey's! I had to fix the toilet each time it was flushed and the bathtub would not drain. It even had roaches. Parking is not included in the price. Overall the hotel is very outdated. It needs to be renovated and updated.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 34Ok room for the money
Didn't like that we had to pay $15 per day for parking. Restaurant in the hotel could have had been food & friendly employees.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 34Need a lot of improvement
The hotel is really old and need a lot of improvement. It looks like it is 20-25 yrs old with a lot of old equipment/furniture. The beds were old size standard beds and very small for a couple. The location is very accessible to beach and zoo. However, they charge for everything including coffee in the room.

The hotel is right next to the Zoo, and walking distance to the beach, reasonable price.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 34Was ok
The hotel itself is in need of great repair and remodeling but for the price we paid and the location, it was what we needed. It's right next to Waikiki beach and the shopping along Kuhio and Kalakaua streets. With easy bus access and being within walking distance to alot of these things, It made getting around without a car was very easy. The pool was small, but clean. The restaurant is definitly something to skip. It was dirty and the food and service was pitiful. Also good to know, they charge a nominal fee to hold your luggage if you want to shop or something before or after you check in/out, whereas some hotels offer it as a service.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 34Not a Good Hotel
My husband and I booked an ocean view room with a kingsized bed for 10 nights at this hotel When we checked in we were told that the hotel was full and all we could get was a "city view" room with 2 double beds. The view was of a run down apartment!! We checked every day for 10 days to see if we could switch to the type of room we requested and were continually told that the hotel was full and we could not change rooms. However, we met people in the restaurant who checked in after us, and they were given ocean view rooms for less money than we paid!! We were only a block away from the Waikiki beach. The beaches and beach parks were filled with homeless people who had taken over the parks and lived under blue tarps. We have been coming to Waikiki for the past 4 years and this year was the worst. We were unable to access or indeed even see the beaches this year due to all the homeless blue tent villages which in some cases stretched for miles on the west end of island. Not only were the homeless camped out in the public bathrooms/ but while we there, daily articles in the newspaper were saying that the homeless in Waikiki had the highest rates of MRSA (methcillian resistant staph) and that this infection leads to high rates of illness and death with nothing to treat it!! Definitely not an island paradise vacation!!

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 34Low budget
Low budget - dated and musty. Only a few bugs! If you are just going to crash overnight, it is not too bad of a place.

Elevators: There were 3 elevators, but only 2 sometimes 1 is in operation. Restroom: Sink needs to be replaced. Everytime you sit on the toilet the cover of the reservoir moves. Cleanliness: Carpets need to be replaced. Coffee: I did not use the coffee as both wife and I do not drink coffee. I held the coffee and they were charging me for doing that, which I objected. Charges: Almost every move has a charge, like, the use of the safe, local calls for the phone, parking in hotel, etc.
