Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 15Hotel staff and walls need improvement
The hotel staff wasnt very courteous or interested in attending to the guests and the hotel rooms had extremely thin walls and doors. The room otherwise was comfortable and the hotel location was very convenient for visiting Niagara falls.

The room price is not worth the value of such average accomodation. Very unlikely the Crowne Plaza Hotel I have known for its class A accomodation and comfort. This hotel unit in Niagara, NY is the exact opposite of the popular Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 15Tired Hotel
For a hotel with such a recognized brand name, the Crowne Plaza was a complete disappointment. The hotel appears clean but is in tremendous need of new paint, wallpaper and carpet. Our perception of poor safety was also an issue. While unloading our car we noticed a homeless person digging through the hotel entrance trashcan and then a hotel maintenance worker approached us and said to be sure and hide valuables from plain view in our car. The hotel's surrounding area is also depressed and there are many closed businesses. It didn't appear to be safe to walk in the area after dark. We also didn't sleep well as we awoke on 2 occasions to the sounds of yelling hotel guests in the hallway. If we visit the Niagara area in the future we will certainly stay overnight on the Canadian side of the Falls.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 15Check timings too rigid
The hotel staff made us wait for one hour to check in at 4.00 PM. The rules are too rigid and we had wait in a long queue to check in.

The hallways were smelly and had dirty carpeting. Not what I would expect for the price.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 15Won't go back
When we got to the hotel there was nowhere to park while checking in. They have a small turn-in that was full at the time. No trolley to load all of our bags into. We found out there that parking costs $5 a night in the adjacent lot (not that big of a deal, but was unaware of that at time of booking). There is not a lot of food around the hotel for a decent meal though there is a Starbucks in the lobby (a life saver). We ordered room service one day and waited an hour before calling down and finding out that they had gone to the wrong room. They said they would send the same meal up to us (hour old eggs, no thanks!) with no apology or attempt to make the situation better. Our room was situated across from the convention center. One morning we were awakened by a loud jazz band playing for a road race registration. The next night there was a band playing until 10:30 pm. The toilet did not work and the bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable and the cleaning staff are so nice, always smiling and saying hello. However, the people at the front desk were not helpful or even polite! I witnessed a woman with her children locked out of her room on the phone with the front desk. She told me that they refused to come up to help her in to her room, they insisted that she come down (with all of her bags and 2 kids) to get the key card reprogrammed!!! We were on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall & she had too much to carry to lug down and back! SO! I will never go back to this hotel. I was so frustrated with this hotel & very happy to leave it!!!!!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 15Check In Beware
BEWARE of the stringent check in time. The hotel staff will not let you check in before 4:00pm. My family and I arrived early and tried to check in at 12:00 pm and were told no, and we were told to try back later at 3:00pm. We had booked two rooms. I asked if they had just one room available for my elderly parents who are in their eighties and my two old niece so they could rest. I was told no, and to check around three. At 3:00 pm, I checked again, and was told no. The hotel does have rooms available before 12:00pm, as I observed the following day by people checking out and rooms being cleaned. SO BEWARE!!!!!

The bed was confortable, but the carpets ( room and hall) were very dirty. The couch had a big and disgusting stain on it.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 15Did not meet expectations
Hotel needs improvement in the following areas: The hallway floors always looked dirty and unkept. The walls between rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything. No fan in the bathroom is a bigger negative then you would think. Pool area is ok and the pool staff was awesome. Parking area is dangerous as 2 cars were broken into the one night. Would not stay on the US side again. Get passports and stay in Canada

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 15High price for what you get
The hotel was ok, our room did not get cleaned until the afternoon, and dirty towels were left on our floor. Staff was nice and they did have a lifeguard on duty in the pool area. Close to the falls and close to the bridge

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 15Not Worth the Money
We recently stayed at this hotel and had to beg for two towels. After they cleaned the room, we were told that laundry was backed up. After waiting for three hours, we finally hunted down two towels for the evening. Upon check out, we lodged our complaint with the front desk and were told "sorry about that". For the price, we thought it was ridiculous that we couldn't even get fresh towels.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 15too expensive for the quality & service provided
We were four adults and a 5 yr cold. We were provided two queen beds and an extra bed which was comfortable. We asked for extra coffee cups and tea bags, toothpaste & brushes and it was provided with no extra charge. big 36 inch lcd tv was in the room. Shower knob was lose and came out while using it. Free internet was a plus.
