Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 134A fun Hotel and Casino.
Golden Gate is basic with service, small simple rooms, but has a charm that we enjoy. This is our 5th stay at the Golden Gate, and will continue to stay there. Downtown Vegas is fun and you can get around, it beats the over tourist strip. And the Deli and cafe at the Golden Gate is always good and afordable. The free valet parking is worth it too.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 134don't let the price fool you
this is an operating museum, casino, hotel, and a very good restuarant. the only way to get the incredible prices is through hotels.com but the hotel is worth much more than the price of the rooms. It has been recently renovated and a good job they did. all the amenities of the other hotels in slightly smaller rooms in a 1906 hotel. very friendly staff, this is a wonderful alternative to the pick-pocket strip hotels. Don't wait to book, this place is usually too full to add a day once your there.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 134Hidden Gem in DT Las Vegas
Most of the cabbies in Las Vegas had no idea the Golden Gate existed because it's so small... don't let that fool you! The hotel may seem like nothing until you step into your fabulously remodeled art deco room. The walls, the headboard, the furniture- all beautiful, even the framed pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra were stunning. The bathroom was roomy and nicely appointed with Neutrogena products- I was actually excited to take my shower! The Bay City Diner downstairs had THE best breakfast I'd had in Vegas and it was, by comparison, dirt cheap. Also, I totally dig the music they have running through the restaurant and the casino. I'd say if you want to visit Old Vegas, give the Golden Gate a try!

For the price, you cannot beat it. If you want a place to sleep and set your belongings it is perfect, but I would not recommend it if you want to hang out in the room. We leased two rooms one was small the other was medium size.

Everytime we would go to Vegas, we always had to go here for the 99 cent shrimp cocktail. Always wondered what the rooms would be like. Now that I have stayed here, I don't think I'll ever stay anywhere else. I like historical hotels, and although this one wasn't all that unique or special, it was clean and convenient for a Downtown stay. The shrimp cocktail has gone up to $1.99 but when you get a players card at the hotel, you still can get it for 99 cents! It was great to drag back to the room at 3AM and get my shrimp cocktail on! They also have a great diner there where I had breakfast. The waitresses were really old and called me Honey. You can't get any better than that!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 134Clean, nice, cheap, no hassles, just right
Clean hotel, easy check in, valet close, small room405, but had everything you needed. TV coffee, ice cold AC, and no resort fee. Small than normal room size, just enough for 2people no more, could be noisy and bothersome to a few if you get room facing show side. Well stay again, become a players club member and get the famous 2 shrimp cocktails for 99cents each.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 134Great for the money, a little noisy.
Nice hotel, great location, clean. Small rooms. Ask for room away from the east alley, delivery trucks and employees make lots of noise early in the morning. Other than that, great stay!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 134Excellent Hotel for the money
I stayed there for 5 nights. My room was small as expected but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small and the shower and floor tiles need to be replaced. Better quality towels is also recommended. All in all I had a wonderful stay and would stay again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. For the ladies who need a large bathroom and sink counter be aware that it is rather small.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 134Such a steal!
This hotel is great. The rooms are small but extremely comfy and nicely updated with retro flair. If you like the night life, i would request a room on the Fremont side of the hotel because you will get a great view of all the action down below. The staff is really friendly and there is free valet parking for guests. The only thing that I guess I would complain about is the thinness of the walls, but then again, I've never stayed in a Vegas hotel that was soundproof.
