Fun place to stay but watch for hidden costs

The hotel was neat, but we were charged an additional $25 per night that we did not find out about until arrival at the hotel. At this point, it was too late to change the arrangement, and because of this we will not be returning to an otherwise lovely place.

Needs some improvements but a nice hotel

We noticed that the hotel cut a few corners in order to save on costs. Our room did not have a night stand or lamp and the DVD player had no remote. The lighting was also somewhat dim in the rooms that we stayed in. We could hear the whirlpools of the neighbors next to us, which made the feel of privacy a little less than expected. The bathrooms only come with a toilet and sink, no shower. The shower was attached to the whirlpool out in the middle of the room in two of the different rooms that we stayed in. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and accomodating and the breakfast was wonderful.

Need a Little Help

Some of the employees were very kind, The breakfast is heat and serve it had us sick. The tub was akward for two people and the matress was over firm. Renissance room 2nd floor.

Very Disappointing

We were very disappointed with the room we were given. We paid the deluxe price, but we have gotten much better, more, amenities at other places for a lot less money. They charged our debit card for items that we had a coupon for. The website for Chateau Avalon is deceiving. You do not get all that they say you do. It was definately not worth the price we paid. The staff was friendly, but not helpful. When I called them back to ask about the charges to our debit card they were rude. I am waiting to see if they reversed the charges or not.

they were not coroporating with us

If you are staying there for more than one night let them know when you book the rooms and they might let you change rooms so you can see all the themes. The Breakfast in bed was awesome.

Bad experience

Unfortunately, we had a couple issues during our recent stay. 1) It was too warm in our room. We adjusted the AC, but it never cooled down. 2) At about 3 AM we awoke to a soaking wet bed. The fire sprinkler was leaking and dripping water onto our pillows. Called the front desk and they said someone from Maint. would look into it but that they would not arrive for several hours. They thanked us for reporting the issue and that was it.

Bait 'N Switch?

Chateau Avalon's "themed" rooms are done in a cheap theme park style. Comparing the actual experience with their print and TV ads we felt we were misled. The complimentary breakfast could have been easily outdone by a trip to a fast-food restaurant. For the price (even at the discounted price) we felt that we did not receive value for our money. We recommend evaluating other choices for that same price range.

One time stay was enough

Nice little place, rooms were OK. Was quaint for a one time stay for the price. Definately not a planned place for future stays, PRICE! For the cost, even the discounted rates didn't make this stay a real "value".

Watch your bill

Although the hotel was very nice and fun, they acused and charged me for "stealing" two bathrobes. It turns out that they hadn't stocked my room with the bathrobes and the prior guests were the ones that had taken them. The hotel was very hard to reach via phone and very insincere when trying to resolve the situation. After some time, the issue did get resolved and the charges reversed but it was a big headache for a one night stay.

Staff needs to learn there manners

We called the hotel to see if we could check in one hour early because my husbands flight from Iraq arrived early and they said it was fine. When we arrived the ladie at the desk refused to let us check in until she realized she was the one who told us we could. When she asked the staff to check the room we were yelled at by someone in the maid serives about not being able to check in until four. I mean we were yelled at. The room was nice once we got passed the staff. We did find out after we payed for the premium package we were given a "mid-grade" room. They did not admit it until a called a week later and asked which rooms were considered to be premium. We were not greated with any snacks and the breakfast was cold. If you can handle putting up with a rude staff and get to your room it is a nice stay.

not as great as expected

we went to chateau avalon for a few nights of our honeymoon. upon our late arrival, we found the carpeting to be soaked from the previous couples hot tub use. we were moved to another room for the night, but had to move back to the first room for our second night. the room also had a funky odor. however, the staff were friendly and the complimentary room service breakfast was delicious. this was not the experience i was looking for, considering cost and inconvience.
