Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 27Location good, value marginal
stayed in hotel for one night and for a last minute booking it was okay. if you have time to look there are better hotels available for around the same cost. It is close to the Eaton Centre and Cannon theatre.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 27Room Problem
While my room was fine, my friends room was a nightmare. Smoke smell and urine in the bed - absolutely ridiculous.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 27Gorgeous at first.....
but, the room was small and congested. The pool was not available, which was the only reason I booked at this location. It was $4.00 for a glass of OJ, $7.00 for a bowl of oatmeal, $14.00 for a continental breakfast which consisted of bread, cheese, and fruit. I was very disappointed. Next time, I would book at a well known hotel and drive to the downtown area. Which reminds me, parking was $22.00 per night. I would have killed to find the Marriot or Hampton!

First off when I got to the hotel, they had spelled my name wrong. I get to the room and it needed to be cleaned again. The desk staff did seem friendly and did not make me feel welcomed. The location of the hotel was pretty good, but my room was not what I expected. It was smaller and I did not sleep well that night in the bed. Maybe it was a bad week for me and how I felt about the room and service. I will visit Toronto again, but look to stay somewhere else.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 27Nice Property, Bad Housekeeping
Thge Hotel was a nice enough place, except that our toilrt didn't work correctly, and overflowed all over the bathroom. When we called for maintenance, someone from the front desk showed up with a plunger, and some towels. He explained that the maintenace people left at midnight. For a hotel of this size not to have 24 our maintenance is unimaginable. By the way, they never fixed it properly for the two nights we were there

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 27Decent hotel, but
internet is not available in every room. I didn't know this -who would think a hotel in 2008 would not have internet in every room? Evidently. I had to reserve a room with internet and none was available when I checked in. As a result I had to use the wireless, which is only available in the lobby. Not a huge deal, but annoying in this day and age.

Upon arriving at the hotel the front desk clerk was not informative in telling us the pool, sauna & fitness center were under repair,we where so disappointed because we were dressed to swim and was told by one of the staff about the repairs. If they had told us we would have gone to some other hotel.Driving our truck into the garage well if you can't drive don't use there parking. The space is so tight and the side you enter is the same side for oncoming traffic. The comforter which was white had messy blood stains. The room had no internet,so to use our laptop we had to purchase for$3.95 for an hour,if not the only access is to be in the lobby with a lot noise. They had no continental breakfast so we had room service for $55.00 for two way too expensive. The line to check out was from the desk to the front door,so our wait time was over 20 minutes. So over all we would never ever recommend the Metropolitan Hotel to anyone visiting for business or pleasure.

During a four night stay there was never more than 1 or 2 elevators out of 4 that were operational. Took 10 minutes to get to lobby from 12th floor. Also, no ice machine on our floor (sign said to visit one of two other floors for ice) so that also took 10 minutes to go to another floor and bring ice back up to the room. Lastly, toilet handle broke, put in request and SIX hours later nothing had been done. They sent someone up promptly once we complained and it was fixed immediately, but they had six hours to fix it while we were out sightseeing. Overall rating for this hotel: 1 out of 5.
