horrible hotel...in need of major repairs...the beds were uncomfortable, the room smelled, the carpets were soaking wet and they gave us two double beds instead of a king.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 87You'll be Gambling at the Claridge
We stayed in the Claridge Tower at Bally's, which was OK (at best) for the lodging fee we paid. There was a basketball sized white stain on the carpet and some sort of stain on one of the chairs in the room. The bathroom was out of date. It seemed to have a mild smoky-musky scent (non-smoking room). The bed was nice and any traveler knows that is the most important thing and we only planned to be in the room to sleep. The real kicker was that I booked (and PAID for) two (2) "identical" rooms for the same price (all on one bill from Hotels.com). Our second party arrived a few hours after we did and the room they recieved was in a seperate tower and was essentially a "junior suite" in the Bally's tower; it was 50% bigger, with a fridge (we were suppossed to have one - we didn't), a beautiful view and everything was nicer (the chairs, the lamps, the air and especially the batheroom). I was furious with envy. Oh well. We had a good time anyway.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 87Old and out dated...
If Bally's will put you in the Clariton...be careful. This part of the hotel is old and outdated. The bathrooms are tiny and most of the surfaces are badly worn - there were even cigaret burn marks on the toilet seat cover. The gym is horrific and discusting. It looked like the cardio machines hadn't been wiped down in years and there is practically no equipment. Worst of all, the gym closes at 6:30, which is early if you are working a convention...

Bally's AC gave us a room at the Claridge hotel. The hotel was old needs a lot of renovation. Bathtub clogged when we took a shower and the bathroom itself has this distinct smell to it.

They mixed up my hotel room with my brothers and proceeded to act like we did something wrong. Extremely rude.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 87Fix this place
The Bally's Atlantic City has three towers - the Bally, Dennis, and Claridge towers. I stayed in the Claridge, which I guess they keep as the "cheap" option. After reading other reviews on the site, I was a little concerned about the hotel in general, and the Claridge tower specifically. The Claridge tower desperately needs a makeover. The carpets were dingy, and had water stains. The rooms and floors smelled musty. The TV was an older set (the other towers had flat-screens). Fortunately, I had a large room on the corner overlooking the ocean, so the view was nice. The bathroom was tiny. The hotel itself wasn't much better. The main level (casino) floors were filled with slot machines. Since the smoking and non-smoking sections were not really separated, the entire casino floor smelled of smoke. To make matters worse, I saw smokers in the non-smoking sections - there was no enforcement. The restaurants within the hotel were very overpriced. I miss the inexpensive buffets you can find in Vegas. The only exceptions are the Johnny Rocket's and the 6ix restaurant (if you get their special). Finally, the hotel really needs to rethink their internet access fees. They are horridly expensive.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 87Stay around the marina not on the boardwalk
A group of my college friends went down to Atlantic City for a fun summer weekend. We heard the horror stories of what AC was like these day but now we know they are all true. Not only was the boardwalk trashy it seemed down right dangerous after the sun went down. The hotel staff was not just rude they blatantly didn't care to help with any of our needs, any we are not a demanding group at all.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 87not worth the money
Be careful in booking this hotel - just b/c it says "Ballys" - they may stick you in the Claridge which is small, old and gross... not worth what we paid for it AT ALL.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 87bally's ac
We stayed in the older section of the hotel. It was noisy with people hollering in the hallways. This section of the hotel is too far from the beach. Also the bellman broke our cooler and offered us only plastic bags to put our goods in. At the high rates we paid for these rooms you would have thought they would have offered to replace it.
