Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 18Not quite right.
I am thrilled that this architectural gem has been restored. Unfortunately, the decor is a bit over the top and will likely not age well. And the management is not up standard. Linens are washed in a scented deterent that some may find offensive or allergic. There is no unscented option. And the room had some issues. There was a cracked mirror and the HVAC thermostat was way to sensitive so the room was either hot or was constantly recycling on and off (literally every few minutes). But the biggest disappointment was the $25 per room per night undisclosed "resort fee"?!?

liked the fact that it is fairly a new hotel didn't like the noise of aircondition didn't like the overall reception experience - and as the hotel is so spread out, it is an anxiety to locate or orient with the premises.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 18Did not get the service we should have for the price
Our room did not have shampoo or lotion products. We were also missing glasses not to mention we were lacking a shower curtain! We had to call the front desk about 8 times during our stay to ask for basic things such as shower curtains and each time it took them over an hr to get to us. And when water glasses did arrive they were dirty! The pool area had no towels and after asking mutliple employees towels arrived 2 hrs later. Also the food at the pool took about 2 hrs for a plate of chips!

Very disappointing experience. The question is: Were did they put the $70 million dollars? You pay a high price for the rooms which still seem to be from the 80s and they charge a lot of money for all the services, food and drinks. The main pool was totally crowded, loud and unpleasant and the small pool is outdated and needs improvement. The restaurant and spa and bars seem to be nice but they are very expensive. The landscaping is poor in some areas. YOu have a feeling that they ran out of money when it comes to the back part of the hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 18Great Refurbishment, still working out the kinks
The Riviera has an impressive lobby and feels a bit like a Cool Vegas hotel. Unfortunately I arrived on a Sat night around 8:45 and it took me until 11:15 to get into a room. They had no room ready! The first room they tried was very nice, but when I open the bathroom door the room was flooded! Then I sat for nearly an hour and 30 mins before they found me another one. When you are only staying two nights, losing your Saturday like this was pretty annoying. The hotel was also incredibly noisy! It was like frat night at the hotel with lots of screaming 20 somethings, banging around inside and outside. The rooms look great, but the tiniest closet inside a huge room, which was bizzare...I had no where to put my suitcase, and I had a huge, huge suite. Bizarre planning. So if you have an overnight bag, are 20-something heavy drinker, and don't mind waiting two hours to check in...your set!

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 7 of 18A Vegas Wannabe w/a New Coat of Paint
My experience with the Riviera began before I arrived. I called the main line twice with standard questions & spoke to employees who had a tone of indifference as to whether or not my query was answered. That set the tone for the rest of the stay. To visit the Riviera is to look into the vacant eyes of a pretty girl - there's no substance. Everything feels like an afterthought to increase revenue - the renovations, the resort & spa, the food. The employees all came across as being bothered by having to work their shift. The kicker was this - upon receiving my bill at checkout, there was daily resort fee tacked on. !!!! Now, I get that this may not be disclosed upon booking in some legal jargon, but to not sign off on this additional base charge at check-in astounded me. Had I known, I would've inquired, "what does this include?" so that I could've taken advantage of what I was paying for. Instead it was/still is a mystery. Awful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 18Did not live up to my expectation.
The bed was uncomfortable, the shower head squirted water everywhere and you can hear the service staff pushing huge laundry carts right outside our window (all day & night). We also were there during summer soltice which ment having to listen to techno all day long. Those types of events should be on hotels.com so people can avoid it.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 18Opened pool to the public with loud music.
Unfortunately they opened the large & nicest pool for a public event with loud music from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on the Saturday of our 2-day visit. We had looked forward to a quiet pool-side experience and it did not happen.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 18Nice hotel
We got there late Sat night and were given an upgrade! We got to the room and it was lovely. But there were no robes and there was cigarette butts in the ashtray on the balcony. I liked that we were able to sit in the jacuzzi late at night as long as we were quiet. It was very relaxing. When we were leaving we got the bill for any room charges and the nightly resort fee. Which is for coffee, tea, newspaper, wifi, etc. Most of which is included at other hotels. None of which we used, except coffee. They charged my cc after we left for something from the mini bar. I know we didn't take anything from the mini bar, so that issue is still being resolved. I really liked this hotel, but I don't like the resort fee and the charges for the mini bar. I would have gone back a lot, but now I'm not sure.

the service at the hotel was just TERRIBLE. when we checked in to the hotel we were told our room was being cleaned and would be ready in twenty minutes. FOUR hours later it was finally time to check in. we were exhausted, disappointed, and so on... that same night we went to have dinner at the hotel restaurant and were told they were completely full and for us to come back in an hour. but when we looked inside the place was 95% empty. just really disappointing.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 18Room was nice, but service was horrible!
When we arrived, we thought, "wow, nice lobby, but the girl at the check in counter was short with us and didn't go out of her way to provide great service." We all noticed, but let the check in girl slide and continued on. We got to our room and thought, "So cute!" and took pictures of the fun decor. Then we realized that we had reserved the room to accommodate 3 people and they had only left items for 2 (2 glasses, 2 robes, 2 towels, etc). We called down to the front desk and the guy said he'd send us up those items right away. About 30 minutes later an attendant came with a robe... that's it. We had asked for another glass and more towels too. I had to call down again to get those items and it took another 25 minutes!! So almost 1 hour later, we had the items we asked for! Maybe that was a fluke? Nope. We realized we had forgotten toothpaste and my friend forgot her toothbrush, so that evening we called down for those items. We NEVER got them! We waited over an hour and when they didn't come, we decided to go to the grocery store and buy our own the next morning, as we were all too tired to call back and play the waiting game again. The problem is, the guy said (once again) the toothpaste and toothbrush would be right up! Another thing I'd like to mention is the SPA. We booked 3 massages (one each) and were excited to use the spa facilities before the spa (the pools and steam room). The facilities were PACKED! There are a large number of treatment rooms and a large number of people getting services. The steam rooms are located in the locker rooms, are VERY small and get crowded fast. The hot tub and cool pool are located in a co-ed section and are very crowded as well. Also, the waterfall feature is extremely loud, so people are talking quite loudly in this area. One redeeming quality of the co-ed spa pools section is that there are sectioned off seating areas of different sizes where you can pull curtains to relax with your friends (or yourself) in a more p

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 18Terrible service
Although the room we ended up in was nice we had many problems with our stay. The service was absolutely terrible. The pool area is beautiful but our room was near the smaller pool and there were no towels available- you either had to walk to the other pool or find towels somehow yourself. Our room was next to the stairwell and every time someone used the door it banged loudly. The air conditioning unit also made a loud banging noise periodically. The pool was nice but everything else was extremely disappointing. We will not be going back.
