The woman who checked me in was not what I would call friendly or terribly helpful. It seemed like she felt she was doing me a favor by checking me in. When I got to the room, the smell (unpleasant) was overwhelming. I was really tired and just wanted to sleep so I thought I'd air it out a bit by opening the door and the window. It helped a little but UGH! I ended up sleeping with the window open. I also found a hair on one of the towels as soon as I went into the bathroom to wash and dry my hands. There were stains on the small fabric throw at the foot of the bed, too, which were disgusting. Overall, NOT IMPRESSED! Sad thing is that I've stayed there before (in different room types) and really enjoyed the stay. I'm all about second chances, but, this stay was so bad that I would have to reconsider staying there again in the future.

We have stayed at Little America many times and have seen it going progressively down hill, but we never imagined we would get stuck with such a trashy room as the one we did last time! We booked two rooms on our card for the same price. One of the rooms was bigger than the other and was fairly nice, the other room was a small trash hole! It had rust around the sink area along with soap scum. The shower and the toilet were clean but the sink was disgusting! To make our trip even better it was snowing and cold when we were there. The door had basically no seal you could see the light through all sides of the door! Consequently we froze the entire time because the heater could not keep up to the storm coming through the door! We had the privacy please sign on the door and had the maid wake us from our nap three different times to try to clean the room. It was the worst hotel experience of my life and I do not plan to return.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 21kind of old
I stay in their garden section which is quite old, but I heard that the main building is better that why they got 4 star from the other part. You can pay less than that and got 3 stars hotel and better.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 21Reasonably priced, but could be better
The main hotel building looked impressive, with a gorgeous lobby, fresh flowers and very upscale appearance. We were in one of the outer buildings, which are like a basic motel. There were carpeted sidewalks by the rooms that were filthy and stained by their watering system. The carpets in the room were also dirty. There was no wireless internet in the rooms, only in the lobby. My computer's ethernet connector is broken, so I need wireless. The bathroom was very tight. You had trouble opening the door without hitting the toilet. You had to step out of the way to open or close it and there really was no where to go. The headboard on the bed was cheap and loosely attached, and rattled and banged the wall every time you sat on the bed. The air conditioner was not easy to control. The sheets were nice quality and the comforter was light down or down alternative but the tapestry type throw and decorative pillow were heavy, scratchy and useless. Basically, it was a place to sleep, not too far from the downtown restaurants and business meetings. I would probably try someplace else, next time.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 21Garden rooms not part of nice hotel
The hotel looked like a very nice place to stay. We however got a garden room that was seperate from the hotel. The maid never came and the room stunk. I did not see the rooms in the hotel, but the garden rooms should receive no more than a 2 star rating. The hotel says it is a 4 star, maybe if you stay in the hotel.

We got to the hotel and our reservation was for a queen size bed but we were given two fulls instead. Then our airconditioner did not work. Maint. finally got to our room at 10:00 pm, kind of fixed it and gave us a fan for the night. They should have allowed us to just get a new room after all of the problems.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 21Scary hotel for hotels.com buyers and anyone under 21
They seem to treat those guests that used a discount resource for reservations poorly. They definitely had a snobbiness that we were not as good as the other customers. Also we had to find someone over the age of 21 to say that they approved of us staying in the hotel. We traveled awhile and were very embarrased with the unconfidential way that the staff handled and treated us.

Beautiful hotel. Atmosphere too stuffy for my taste. Staff kept asking son-in-law (who is hispanic) if he was a registered guest.

If you like really hard beds then this is the place to go. Besids that it was ok. I know the next time that we travel to Salt Lake we will not stay there.

little america was a converted 50's motel, at least the section I stayed in. no better really than any other chain-certainly not up to the standard it advertises.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 21Not enough value for money
There is no wireless internet in the hotel and you have to pay for the cable for the wired internet. There is no in-room coffee - a major disappointment and trouble. You have to walk all the way to the lobby to buy a cup of coffee for $2. Within the room, the couch is placed in such a way that the TV cannot be viewed very well because the doors of the cabinet that houses the TV blocks the view. For a business travel, coffee, internet and TV are basic amenities that should be available easily. Also, the door knob was weird and could not open the door easily. I ordered room service coffee for the first morning and found that it was $8 and worse still they brought me coffee without sugar and with cream, when I asked for coffee with sugar and without cream. Hotel room was clean and bed was comfortable, but this is not enough for the money they charge - too expensive and very low value.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 21Great amenities but the AC needs to work!
I assumed we'd be getting a queen, and found ourselves in a tiny room with a double bed. My bust - I should have specified. The girl at the front desk said that most of the rooms had double vice queen beds, but she could upgrade us for another $40 per night. The lobby area with its shops, coffee shop, restaurant, etc was great. The pools, saunas, hot tub, locker rooms - all free to guests - were terrific, as well. The deal killer, however, was that the AC in our room was inoperable. Opening the window didn't help as there was no way to get a cross-breeze. When the weather turned chilly one night, several of the tenants in my wing were outside their rooms, enjoying the cool air. As we compared notes, it semed the entire wing was hot and stuffy - nobody's AC was working. The front desk was non-commital and unhelpful.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 21Needs good beds
Our bed was quite simply uncomfortable. The Hotel personnel brought in a "pillow top" to try to make it more comfortable, but it ended up being lumpy and even more uncomfortable. I would suggest that a beautiful hotel like this should bring in decent beds.
