Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 18Did not feel that it deserved its 4 star rating
First, I must say that there is nothing wrong with the functionality or cleanliness of the room, and the level of service was acceptable. However, this hotel certainly did not meet my expectations of the 4 star rating. The room itself was an average room that you find in most mid-range hotels around the country. Thus, I would definitely have to say that it is overpriced.

I stayed two days. My room was not cleaned the entire stay (No, not even the sheets or towels were changed out). I had dinner in my room the first night and the food was a real disappointment. The food apparently sat waiting to be delivered to my room for an extended period of time as the hot foods were cold and the cold sandwich was hot. The iced tea had melted all of the ice and was very warm. The second day I ate in the restaurant and was very impressed with both service and food quality. At check out, I was double charged for parking and food. When I mentioned the charges, they were reversed. NNot happy with the experience. Jim

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 18Poor Service and Not Typical of its Class
I had never stayed at a Loew's before, but had read comparisons to other hotels that I really like. I was let down. Our reservation wasn't correct. We had reserved 1 King, but got 2 double beds. We were then told they had all the of King rooms booked, so we were out of luck and didn't even get much of an apology for the mistake. The walls were paper thin. I could hear the woman next door singing hymns and could hear even normal volume conversations from the hallway in our room. The cabinet holding the TV had what I would guess to be a good 3 months dust collected on the top of it and the nightstand had chunks of wood knocked off. We had a view straight into an office building next door that was so close I could read their screensavers. We attempted to order room service one night, but were told that it would be a two hour wait. We opted to look for dinner elsewhere. And finally, when we had our car brought around by the valet to leave, the car was left in a tunnel still inside the garage. When we came out, 3 valets were standing there with nothing to do, however none of them offered to bring the car up to the valet window for us or assist with our luggage. Nevermind the almost ridiculous price that they charge for parking. On the upside, the location is great and we were able to walk to quite a lot of places.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 18Decent Hotel- Needs Improvement
While the hotel was in a convenient location, the hotel is stuck in the early 80's. It does not have a clean appearance.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 18Parking woes
Parking was the biggest drawback to this hotel. It is $40 a day and only valet. They don't seem to be upfront about this on the website because I didn't realize it until we arrived to check in. We stayed three nights, and by the time we paid for parking, it was the equivilant of staying a fouth. This is the only reason I would not stay again and would not recommend this hotel to friends. If you don't have a car, it's a beautiful hotel that is located in a great part of the city near a lot of public transportation. Staff was nice and they were accomadating to my dog.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 18Sorry I stayed there
This hotel was convenient for my business and the public areas were well maintained, but the mattress was lumpy and quite uncomfortable. Also, personal property disappeared from my room. I was not impressed with the hotel bar/restaurant either. I will stay elsewhere next time I'm in Philly.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 18Nice...until the next morning
I was shocked to find out (when I was leaving the morning after my stay) that I not only had to pay $40 for each additional guest car that parked in the hotel garage, but also for MY OWN CAR!! The room was in my name! Unbelievable! The staff was actually very rude and not understanding whatsoever. Due to this, I can assure you I will NEVER stay at Loews again due to this...and neither will any of the other people who stayed with me. This is unfortunate, because I was completely happy with the establishment prior to this, and had planned on not only staying there again, but also highly recommending the place to others.

This hotel reminded me of an old apartment building that they attemptd to remodel as a hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 18DEFINITELY NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
I have stayed at the Loewes Chain in several cities and I MUST SAY that the Loews Philadelphia made me look at the entire Loews chain differently. This hotel looked like an old apartment building, nothing was remodeled and it was completely disgusting, I would not EVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 18Had No Water
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and very convenient to downtown attractions. However, we checked in in the afternoon and came back to the hotel late at night after a ghost tour of Philly to find that the hotel had no water. Luckily we had some bottled water for drinking and brushing our teeth, but we could not shower or bathe. Apparently, the hotel staff was supposed to advise us of the water situation when we checked WHICH THEY DID NOT as we would have switched hotels. The manager credited us some money towards breakfast which was extremely high priced and was still expensive even after the credit. To boot, the clerk did not know how to apply the credit as we were checking out, so it took another round of discussions to get it straight. All in all, the hotel was really beautiful and elegant, but the hotel staff was not up to par with the elegance of the hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 18Hotel with great potential
First night was great. Check-in went smoothly ane the concierge was knowledgeable. It is possible to walk to many restaurants and shopping. 2nd night was a disaster. Next door neighbor had a dog that barked every time somebody walked down the hallway. Every once in awhile another petowner walked by and the dogs had at it in the middle of the night. Finally after trying to fall asleep for a couple of hours we called the front desk for a solution. They quickly moved us to another floor. As we packed our bags at 1am and moved to another floor there was an exodus of other guests moving as well due to the noise from the dog. Nice that the hotel allows guests to travel with their pets but for those who want a peaceful night and may have allergies, would highly recommend you choose another hotel. There are many 4 star hotels in the neighborhood like the Marriot across the street...

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 18housekeeping problems
I stayed there before, the room was very cold. I must say, in the morning they did send someone up to fix the problem. we were checking out. the room was nice, overall appearance. the bathroom wasn't that clean. I can't stand a dirty bathroom. They didn't charge for valet parking for both days, because we complained about the room. This time I stayed, the bathroom was very nasty. the toilet hadn't been cleaned, stains all in the toliet from going to the bathroom, not yellow stains, BROWN stains. the room was very dusty, not clean at all. we stayed 2 nights, we checked out and went to another hotel.
