Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 151Good Property
Great hotel property in a great area..good rates from Hotel.com too,,i checked the rest of the other sites and they had the best deal..got the luau as a bonus too..that was like a $80 per person freebee...the only caution is the breakfast buffett cost me like $32. Way too expensive for what you got..there are other restraunts across the street for a lot better value, the other meals were ok considering where you were..also parking was high there too...but great hotel and would go back again...

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 151A Village
Very large hotel, more like a small city. One has rarely a reason to leave the premises. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but not luxurious. Prices for on-site dining and bars are very high compared to localities close-by.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 151We would return.
We especially enjoyed the "Hospitality Room" we were given at the end of the day before our flight. We loved the various pools and shops and everything and everyone was very nice. We'd go there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 151More than is Expected
This was our first visit to the Hawaiian Islands. We chose Hilton because of previous experiences with the chain. This Resort was absolutely enjoyable, we spent a lot of time touring the island but also loved coming home to the resort and sitting on our balcony watching the ocean views from our room. There is a lot of walking involved and it is described as a Village resort, so plan by putting on your walking shoes when enjoying this expansive village. The 90 shops let us browse and buy at ease, no pressure. We ate at the 4 Diamond restaurant, "The Bali" and what a delicious meal and exquisite service, plus that fantastic view of the ocean. We stayed for 7 nights which included the hotel's luau. It was an evening of entertainment and wonderful buffet style food. Friday night the resort puts on a very nice fireworks display over the ocean, we sat on our balcony and saw every sparkle. Living in Arizona we are use to low humidity, so it did take us a day or two to get a custom to feeling damp, but not uncomfortable with temps in the high 80s. We will return and next time bring our children and grandchildren with us.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 151unfriendly staff
I booked ocean view room in Rainbow Tower and paid extra for that. When I arrived to the hotel the receptionist gave me room with lagoon/parking lot view convincing me that this ocean view. I was very dissapointed with with the view and next day I had to go to the hotel mananger. For 30 minutes the manager was trying to convince me that lagoon view is an ocean view. Eventually I was moved to another room that caused me a lot inconvinience.

Very nice and comfortable. But like any resort, very expensive if you plane to eat, or rent beach equipment. Other than that, very comfy beds and personal is very friendly.. Enjoy!!

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 151Great facilities, ridiculous add-on prices
We have stayed at a lot of hotels, anywhere from 3-5 stars. This was great in terms of facilities - pools, beach, lagoon were all fantastic, as were the rooms and shops. Service was so-so to pretty good overall. However, the prices at the restaurants rivaled The Four Seasons, which we stayed at on Maui. I can tell you, the food was not Four Seasons' quality. Do yourselves a favor and walk down the beach to the other great hotels - you will get much better food at prices that are far less. Or, if your budget allows, eat the the Halekulani or Royal Hawaiian - the same prices for food that is far superior. Skip the room service - the fees are astronomical even by island hotel standards! Go to the coffee shop up the street and get take-out instead. Also skip the $80 fee for 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella at the beach - walk down the beach 100 yards and rent them from the lovely stand in front of the next hotel - less than half price and much better service.
