Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 30never again
we staid there because it was sort of convenient to McCormick place and reasonably priced but the hotel didn't meet even minimum requirements. The place is run down, no elevator, dingy, banged up furniture, bad internet conncetion, and about 8 TV channels, 5 of them in Chinese, one in Spanish and the rest shopping channels. No hairdryer in the room (I scored one by calling reception, had to go down myself, though to pick it up because nobody could be bothered to bring it up), no light on the nightstand (annoying!), etc. My colleague came back one day to find the door to his room was wide open - apparently the cleaning personnel left it open to make it easier to go around and do their job. His computer was in there, other belogings, etc. nothing was missing but scary nonetheless. My room looked out on the street which ceated some issues with noise late at night but was a luxury suite compared to the one my colleague had which looked out onto a wall and was so small he could barely turn around. Most roadside motels are fancy compared to this hotel. Positive things: cheap for Chicago, lots of Chinese restaurants around, bed and bath reasonably clean.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 2 of 30Basic Sleeping Quarters...
I would not recommend this hotel to the non-adventurous. The benefit of staying here is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It is a block for the red line, which zips you to anywhere in the city, perfect for baseball fans. Parking is a bear and there are ZERO amenities, but everything worked at least. Oh, it is pretty cheap too! Good food in the neighborhood, obviously only if you like Chinese Quisine!

This is an old hotel and has the smells of same. The multi-story hotel has no elevator, thus if you stay here, it is best to ask for a first floor room, which is still a walk up 1 flight of stairs. The bathroom was fine, maid service fine, heating was provided by a portable plug in. Best thing was that the CTA train station was around the corner and only about a 30 min ride directly to Midway Airport. The other good part is that McCormick Place is only about a 15 minute walk, so great if you're attending a Chgo trade show on a budget. Ask the desk for referrals to inexpensive but great local dining. It's possible to eat a great meal for under $5.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 30You Get What You Pay For
This is really more of a hostel than a hotel, although all of the guests I saw were adults, mostly Asian. The hotel is old, as is the furniture, bedding, carpets, plumbing, etc. The only heat came from a space heater. Surprisingly, I saw no roaches or rodents. The "lounge" consisted of hot and cold water, and one computer with a broken printer. If you don't mind cheap accommodations, you're in for some fabulous chines food and the fun and culture of Chinatown. I stayed here because I had a convention nearby and didn't want to pay two to three times the price. But, I got what I paid for.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 30cheap hote, but don't expect too much
this hotel was reasonably cheap and convenient located close to the subway (red line), but i was not excited about the cleanliness and the neighborhood (lot's of police arresting someone when i returned to the hotel in the late evening)

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 30China town hotel in chicago. BAD!
terrible, smells very nasty (old and stale); i don't even know if it is a health hazard to stay in this hotel. Also i does not have an elevator. so if you have heavy luggage, you are screwed. not worth at all. all in all, a very terrible and overpriced hotel. i would not stay here even if you pay me in the future.

Seemed Dirty and out dated but for the money it was ok. i only needed a place to sleep 1 nite and it was close to were i was headed. I did like the fact the red line was a 2 min walk and the culture was interesting to stay in the neighborhood. As far as the TV goes, there were 2 or 3 channels in english and the rest were asian.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 30Good room for the money and access to downtown Chicago
The out of service elevators (under repair) was the biggest problem for the hotel. In addition, each room had air conditioning, but the units were mounted on walls above the bed and circulation pointed directly at the beds. However, the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful in trying to accomodate us.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 30Only for the young and fexible
I understand this is a one star, but from any Hotel listed in Hotels.com you would except better than what I received here. I arrived a couple of hours early and was made to sit in the lobby because of a "firm" 3pm checking. The man at the desk told someone while I was there that they had used on 10 of 88 the night before. Come on folks where's the customer service here! Secondly, nothing in the write up says that the building does not meet ADA. The building is totally walk up and they put me on the 4th floor even though they were not near full. Finally, there were some missing switch plate covers that would be dangerious to small children. They seem to try hard but most guest unfriendly place I have ever stayed.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 30The Smallest Rooms Ever!
The room that we had was smaller than a shoebox! My girlfriend and I couldn't even fit on a queen size bed...I hit my head on the ceiling in the showers it was soo small. Do not go to this place unless you are extremely short!

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 30Bad, bad, bad
Great location, close to the loop, right on the edge of Chinatown. Area seems safe. But look out! The room was the size of a broom closet. I could only open the door half way and it banged against the desk. You couldn't move the desk over any more, or it would hit the bed. You couldn't move the bed or you couldn't get into the small bathroom. The Carpet was stained and the place smelled like stale egg rolls and cigarette smoke, although we specifically asked for a non-smoking room (we did not however ask for a non-egg-roll-smelling room). Also, I could only get a wireless signal if I brought my laptop all the way down to the hotel lobby. I would have stayed but my wife was so creeped out, she made us leave after the first night and get another hotel. No sign of rodents.
