Needs Improvement

The lobby is great, you walk in and don't expect to see the condition of the carpeting in the hallways and rooms when you get upstairs. The carpets are in bad need of replacement or a good cleaning.

Hotel Needs Major Overhaul

Chose to stay at the Med based on recent reviews of the place. Wasn't expecting a spectacular hotel, but did expect some of what the hotel boasts on the site. The staff is either untrained or inexperienced. Multilingual? Hardly. When asked for assistance, we were left waiting, and waiting. Never did receive assistance with barely working internet or non-working room key cards. The rooms are MUCH smaller than the pictures show, and the flooring is threadbare, old and musty. Huge issues with the softhold on the creditcard although the room was pre-paid, and when asked in advance for possibly keeping the room for one more night we were assured it wouldn't be a problem. The next morning, we were informed that was in fact not the case... overall, not highly impressed with our stay. I can see why the rates were dropped so low, and why the great reviews came shortly thereafter. Looking back further in the reviews- it is noticeable that the same issues we experienced were experienced by others.

Hidden Costs

We thought we were getting a fair deal when we booked this hotel. We called ahead and were told that we would get free internet access after I asked them if we would. Turns out that the free access they told me about was in the lobby only. You had to pay extra to have it in your room. Parking was a little steep as well, so on top of my "deal" I ended up paying $40 extra dollars. The rooms were old, floors weren't very clean, and their were little hairs in the bath tub. The heat worked, but I couldn't get the AC to come on. Also there was a lot of street noise. I did appreciate the microwave and refrigerator and the the Safeway across the street.

Need to clean

Good downtown location, nice looking room, but bathroom floor obviously had not been cleaned. There was urine on the bathroom floor! Upon reporting it to the front desk the response was simply "oh, I'll tell someone about it" instead of sincere apologies or offers of discounts, etc.

Truly Lousy Hotel

I was actually kind of horrified by this hotel. I booked two other hotels for this trip (one in Vancouver, BC and the other in Victoria, BC through hotels.com) and they were great. This was the last night of our trip and the eve of my mother's birthday and this hotel was a huge disappointment. The room was little better than a Motel 6 and the staff at the front desk was not helpful or polite. I can't believe the rate. We should have paid about half of what we did.

Ok. Pay for parking.

Overall the hotel was just OK. We drove 5 hours for a football game and when we arrived our room was not ready and then we were told that in order to park in the hotel parking garage, you have to pay an extra $15 a night. I've never had to pay to park at a hotel that I'm already staying at. If you don't want to pay to park in their garage, you must pay to park on the street.. however, the hotel is walking distance to Safeway and the bus line so that made our trip a lot easier because we didn't have to drive at all in the hectic Seattle traffic!

No a/c sweating and miserable in my room

I felt the room was pricey (I guess it's about normal for the area). I was surprised to learn there was no air conditioning. There was no refund and I had booked the same hotel for the following week when I returned from a cruise. The room was absolutely miserable. Only 1 side of the window opened. The window faced a courtyard and all of the other rooms. There was no breeze because of that. I left the curtain open until I went to bed, to get as much air in as possible. When I stood up and went to the window to close the blind, a man took my picture from a room across the way. Thank goodness I was dressed. It really creeped me out!!!! I knew I had to return the following week so I complained about how hot the room was. I had to pay $25 more to have a decent temperature in my room. The elevators are super slow and the rooms are small and old.

very good location, close to public transport and main attractions. Rooms are very small and could be cleaner!

POOR cusomer service

The "manager" was a real snot and ended HANGING up on us when we CALLED HER ON HER LIES. we were taken aback by being charged a bed for my CAR ! I've stayed in many hotels and never had to pay for my car to stay with me. PLUS, they ASSUME that EVERY customer is going to RIP THEM OFF, and have no bones about explaining that to their customers. We paid for our room a MONTH in advance, and budgeted our trip down to the doller. well we travled 1000 miles to arrive and find out, i dont get my room, until i cough up ANOTHER $65 ON TOP of the paidfor room, if i canceld at that time, i lost my $100 plus that i had already paid for the room. They put a "soft hold" on my credit card for the room, and then the MANAGER from Mediteranian, refused to do her job and release said soft hold, until we FINALLY<3 days after the stay> got ahold of the "General Manager", who took care of it. No offer of comp'ing us a room for our experiance. the staff kept SECRET all the hotels amenities such as the video library, the OBSERVATION DECK, the fact the hotel has "special water" for thier customers etc. ALL these things we found out AFTER we got home and "DUG" into the hotels inner workings
