If you dont have kids dont go here!

This hotel, or should I say "Resort", (which they pretty much just use that word so they can charge and extra $30 resort fee on top of the $189 per night) is nice. However if you are not into golf and you don't have children the price isn't worth the stay. There is a decent sized water park but its of course full of kids. I could have stayed at best western inn and suites and been just as comfortable and happy with the accomadations for less than half the price.

Do you like roaches in your resort rooms, can't say that I do.

I purchased two rooms for our three night stay at the Arizona Grand Resort, C557 and C558, both rooms had roaches, as in cockroaches, I did not tell my fiance for she would have left the first morning, her daughter and two grandkids stayed in the room next to ours, her daughter did not say anything until after our stay was complete, she too knew that her mom would have left promptly. When I reported the roaches to the registration folks upon checkout there was no concern expressed or resolution presented, would I stay here again, heck no!!! Ohh and the family pools and hot tubs were not operational either!

Disappointed

Staff was rude on several occasions including when we called for a new comforter because the one on our bed had some nasty fluid stain...don't even want to think what that was. Waterpark was OK for small kids but my teens got bored fast. The waterpark closed too early as well. Parking a mess. Was about a 2 star hotel to me. Will never stay there again.

Needs Improvement

The bath room was dirty, hair on the foor and dust on the wall. The bed was very comfortable! Great location! Good place to eat Joes Crab shack! The pool and lazy river were dirty, I didn't really want to get in. Leaves in the water and water cloudy.

Beware of Resort Fee

THIS PROPERTY CHARGES A RESORT FEE THAT WE DID NOT SEE WHEN WE BOOKED THROUGH THIS SITE AS IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL CHARGES PAID THROUGH HOTELS.COM. THE HOTEL (OR RESORT AS THEY LIKE TO CALL THEMSELVES),CHARGES FOR IT SEPARATELY. WE WANTED A CLEAN ROOM FOR THE NIGHT AND WHEN WE ARRIVED FROM SEDONA AROUND 8:00 P.M, WE ANTICIPATED STAYING TO AROUND 8:30 A.M.BEFORE CATHCING OUR FLIGHT. WHEN CHECKING IN WE WERE NOT THAT OUR STAY HAD BEEN PAID FOR THROUGH HOTELS.COM AND TOOK OUR CREDIT CARD FOR ANY INCIDENTALS THAT WE MIGHT INCUR. THE NEXT MORNING, WE RECEIVED A BILL FRO THE RESORT CHARGE(THIS IS NOT A CHEAP PROPERTY TO BEGIN WITH.) APPARENTELY IT IS FOR THE USE OF THE POOL, PING PONG TABLES, AND COFFEE IN YOUR ROOM. MANAGEMENT WAS RUDE WHEN QUESTIONED AND SAID THAT I SHOULD HAVE READ THE KEY PACKET WHEN WE CHECKED IN. THEY HAVE A PRETTY HIGH OPINION OF THEMSELVES HERE AND REALITY DOES NOT MATCH THEIR PERCEPTION.

Needs a face lift

This hotel just feels a bit shabby, maybe in the spring it comes to life, but the restaurant and bar were dark and uninviting and although some areas were nicely landscaped the miles of concrete without sufficient greenery gave most of the hotel a very utilitarian feel. The shut down water park on the premises with expansive concrete decks and abandoned lounge chairs did not enhance the effect.

Not the best

The service of the hotel staff was absolutely awful. At check-in I was spoken to very rudely by one of the clerks. When I got to my room the toilet had not been cleaned (visible signs of use). The housekeeping staff did show up promptly and cleaned the entire bathroom. Later in my stay i called the guest services because what looked to be our refridgerator was not working. An hour later no one had shown up, called again and was argued with by the person on the phone that it is not a refidgerator, it is a cooler and you must put ice in it. It is only designed to keep things at room temperature, then she hung up on me. I would never stay here again.

Poor Service

While stying here, I was exposed to several different service people, waitstaff, cleaning crew, bartenders, and lifeguards. Not ONE of these people were helpful, polite, or freindly. In fact, they were just the opposite. During my stay, I was snapped at and treated as if I was an Inconvenience to the people working there. I never have felt so unwelcome at a hotel before. In addition, upon checking out of my room, I accidently left a new college textbook (that I had just purchased for my nephew) there and immediately called to make sure that I could get it back (seeing as though it cost $210) I was told that "nothing turned up" and that there was nothing that anyone could do to help me. After several letters and phonecalls, the book "turned up" again about 1 1/2 weeks later. The book was out of its wrapping and badly damaged (several pages were unreadable). I was not offered an apology, or a replacement for this book and the lost and found manager was as rude to me as the rest of the staff there. While the rooms and ammenities at the Arizona Gand Resort were above my expectations, I would have to say that the rest of my experience was so poor that I would not recommend this resort to family, or friends.

Not very upfront with you

The hotel was decent. the pools were great and having a waterpark attached was fantastic. That being said, there were a few problems that were deal breakers for me. The parking is not existant. I had to drive around for literally 20 minutes to find somewhere to park. My Balcony view was of a construction trailer right outside my room. The hot tubs motors kept burning out and not working. I had a non smoking room but it stunk of cigarettes because people were smoking right outside the room. In addition, I reserved a room with queen size beds I got one with one king size beds. My child had to sleep on a pullout couch! Which wasn't that big of a deal but that is not what I reserved or paid for. When I called the front desk they told me "we don't guarantee room types and basically told me to deal with it. When checking out, the resort fee went from $16 to $25 each night. Overall, its not a bad hotel but it was overpriced, the construction is a major hinderance and their staff were less than desirable. I would not recommed staying there until they are finished with the construction.

Not What I Expected

We got a Resort Suite. The room was small, not warm or welcoming, and you can't tell renovations have been made. If you stay here on a weekend good luck not running into kids everywhere. If you have kids then they'll love the water park but be warned it will be crowded. If you need a place to stay for business this place will work but I did not find it at all luxurious and the rooms were not the quality I expected. I've stayed at better resorts and stayed in their least expensive rooms and they were by far much better than here.

poor value for the money

- linens and towels were not clean - I booked the hotel because of the impressive photos of the oasis water park, but the wave pool and the river are lousy and only one of three slides was working, because of reduced stuff - !!! be careful - the hotel is charing 28 USD resort fee / per night in addition to the hotels.com rate

HORRIBLE attention to guest needs.

I was very impressed with the price of the hotel and what came with the suite package. When I arrived early they even let me check in early. UNfortunately, when we got to our room, outside the door, was a room service tray with ranch and eaten wings. I called the front desk, who nicely, said they'd come pick it up. After about 2 hours the tray was not picked up. For the entire day it sat there, even after I called the front desk over 6 times to pick it up. Horrible attention to guest needs! The tray was finally returned when I brought it to the front. Then when I asked to speak to a manager, there wasn't one. When I asked if the manager that came in the morning would call, once again, the response was nice, but NO follow through. Upon check out the manager muttered out a sorry and did not seem to care! Hotels.com is wonderful, but the property Arizona Grand is Horrible!

Spend your money elsewhere

I was really disappointed with this hotel. The parking was TERRIBLE, it was overpriced and not worth it.
