needs repairs, needs better customer service

Do not stay at this place. I booked online- which has inherent risk- but, this place was truly a disappointment. We decided to look at the rooms to be sure we would be happy. The first room reeked of smoke (we had requested non-smoking) and the second room we looked at (on the 5th floor) had a sliding glass door that was - no lie- duct-taped shut. When my 5 year old daughter leaned against it to try to see the ocean, the door popped open and leaned out! It scared us. We went immediately back down to the front desk and reported both the smoke-filled hallway and the door incident. Needless to say, we did not stay in this place. The location is great - right on the beach. But, other than that, it's difficult for me to recall anything good to report. This hotel was called "Lauderdale by the Sea" and I would never recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Very expensive roach motel!

This was a most dissappointing place to stay. I actually wore my shoes in the room even in my PJ's as the floor was so disgustingly dirty. I would not stay here again.

Great room for the money but don't expect a palace

A basic hotel if you want a place by the beach which is inexpensive. Don't expect anything more.

Needs big improvement inside and outside bldg.

BATHTUB WAS DIRTY AND DRAIN WAS COMPLETELY CLOGGED WITH TON OF HAIR AND OTHERS. I ALSO FOUND RED LIPSTICK ON COFFEE CUP. I COMPLAINED TO FRONT DESK AND THEY PROMISED TO GET ANOTHER ONE NEXT DAY BUT SAME CUP WAS THERE AND ALSO THE BED SHEET WAS NOT CHANGED. HOTEL MANAGER OFFERED DISCOUNT 50% FROM COST FROM HOTEL.COM BUT THEY DID NOT DISCOUNT THE RATE. HOTEL BUILDING NEEDS MAJOR RENOVATION INSIDE AND OUTSIDE IN MANY WAYS SUCH AS WALL PAPER WAS PEELING OFF, FULL OF TRASH AROUND HOTEL PARKING LOT, AND THE SMELL WAS BAD,BUT HOTEL LOCATION WAS GOOD TO ACCES TO THE BEACH. THE SERVICE OF THE HOTEL WAS NOT GOOD.

A THREE STAR DUMP!!!!

This hotel was definitely a disappointment. Their web site claimed that they had remodeled most of the hotel I never saw anything that didn't need updated, even the Damons grill onsite seemed dingy and old and smelled of mildew. The room was dingy, musty and in need of repair, our sheets were ripped. Hallways were dark and dingy. The night hotel clerk that checked us in was rude and unwilling to do anything for us. The only plus was the location is excellent..but there were many nicer hotels in this area...next time I will spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Good room for the money, Cleaning service not so good.

The room was clean and the front desk staff were nice. However, the lobby did have a mildew odor about it, but the room did not. The only part that I was unhappy about was the service of the room attendents. We stayed 3 nights and the coffee pot or coffee filter was never cleaned or removed. None of the complimentary shampoo or lotions was ever replenished and they were empty, also the ice bucket was never emptied and a new plastic bag placed in it. No trash was removed that may have been laying on a table (like an empty crumpled up snack bar wrapper).
