First time I've been compelled to write a review. The Westgate is new/clean, has friendly service, and skiers (like me) will like the convenience of being at the base of the Canyons ski area and being able to walk to the gondola (not a true ski in/out, however, as they claim: about a 200 meter trek on the concrete path to the gondola, which they try to make easier by providing a ski valet service to carry your skis/snowboards). However, our studio room bordered on the absurd. There was no coffee table, chairs, coat rack/pegs for your wet ski parka, humidifier, ironing board/iron, etc., etc., and the mattress was the hardest and most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel room. After 3 nights of almost getting to sleep, I finally went out to the sofa to give my ribs and back a rest. It's possible that another room may not be as lacking/uncomfortable as the one I had, but I'm not going to chance finding out. The other thing people should know is that while the Canyons is an excellent ski area (for intermediate and advanced only - almost no green runs), there is not much of a village there. It definitely feels only half-constructed. Park City's Main Street is only 5-10 min away though, but that's where you'll likely head each night. Big difference.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 7Very Dissapointed
I read all the reviews prior to choosing to stay here. Despite some of the warnings from other guests i took the chance and booked my honeymoon stay here. The hotel location is beautiful and the hotel itself is a very nice hotel. There is still alot of construction going on...in fact the front entrance isn't even finished so we had to enter the lobby by going into the parking garage and taking a back way. The parking garage was narrow so it wasn't easy to turn around once you went down to the end where the entrance to the lobby was. With multiple people checking in, it was very irritating trying to get to the lobby at all. Ok, next up i check in. I state to the guy checking me in "this is my honeymoon, please put me in a Quiet room". He says he will try but no guarantees. I don't think he even considered my request. Ok so we get to our room. Beautiful room, very cozy, very comfortable. This is the one thing that was done right. 6am the next morning we are woke up to the sounds of kids screaming and running around and parents yelling at their kids. Honestly it sounded like they were in the same room with us. I couldn't believe how thin the walls were. This goes on for an hour till we can't tolerate it anymore and we call the front desk. We suggested either a discount in our room considering how much we paid for a quiet room or moving us to another room. The answer was that they would not discount our room and they couldn't move us. They seriously acted like they could care less. So i told them we would never be staying at their resort again and we would be sure to let everyone know about our experience. Last day we were at the hotel. It was 8am and we get a knock on our door. I go open the door and it is the maid wanting to clean our room. I ask her when we are expected to check out and she says now. I call the front desk and ask what time check out is and they tell me 10am. So i tell them they need to let their maid know so they don't disturb their guests. So our sl

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 7Disappointing Stay
While the accommodations at the Westgate are very nice, it was the incidentals that really fell short at this hotel. The front desk was less than accommodating when it came to parking our vehicle, which would not fit into the cramped parking garage, The clerk told us to park our SUV and camping trailer at the bottom of the hill and take the lift up to the hotel. She failed to mention that the lift was closed after 7 pm and still not operating when we left the next morning at 10 am. Next, the concierge was very unclear about where to find our room, after asking for directions a couple of time, we decided to try and find it on our own. There was nothing open as far as shops in the vicinity of the hotel. When I asked guest services for a place to buy laundry soap, he indicted I would have to go into Park City. (Never mind that the next day I noticed complimentary laundry soap on the maid's cart.) The last straw was the fact that we could hear the high school girls' softball team next door. They weren't being overly loud, but, due to poor building quality, their voices and music were clearly audible.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 7Never Will Stay Here Again!
The room layout was very very cramped. Crammed a kitchenette, sleeper sofa, bathroom and bedroom into a very long skinny space. My friend and I kept bumping into each other. I felt very claustrophobic. TERRIBLE! Also, one of the maids took my robe which had my swimsuit in the pocket. When I asked the front desk to help me get it back, the girls acted like they could care less and simply left a message with housekeeping. Needless to say, I did not get my swimsuit back. WORST hotel in the past ten years.
