The toilet would not stop running, which made it hard to sleep. The air conditioner was very dirty and had black patches growing on it. The drawer in the kitchen area was broken. There was feces in the toilet when we first arrived. It has a great location and nice beach, but it was too dirty in the room for me to enjoy my stay. They need to update their rooms and give them a good cleaning

Not a bad place to stay for the money. You get what you pay for. The view is worth the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 22Very Disappointed
A colleague of mine and I stayed at the Springmaid for one night for a business trip. We checked into the hotel at around 9pm. The grounds of the hotel are relatively large, so the check in desk was in a building across the street and down the road from our room. After we checked in, we threw our things on our bed, and went out to see some of the local sights. We returned to our room around midnight, and went out on the balcony to chat. Around 1am, we began preparing for bed. My colleague used the toiletry area first, so by the time it was my turn, it was about 1:20. I finished washing up, but when I went to get into my bed it was SOAKING wet! We called down to the front desk and the person that answered the phone said that they would switch our rooms, but that we would have to come and get the room key because "it was just him and the security guards". My colleague and I are both females under the age of 28 and were already in our pajamas. The fact that they would ask us to walk down the road in the middle of the night to pick up a new room key because their establishment had messed up was ludicrous. We informed the man that they would just have to send up a security guard with a new key because we were not walking out there. The next morning when we asked to speak to a manager, we were turned down. The girl at the front desk informed us that there had been a leak in the unit directly above us but that it hadn't occured to them that the leak would effect our unit. We were told a manager would call us at a later time. That never happened. No one called us, we weren't given a partial credit for the huge inconvenience, nothing. I have never been so disappointed in a hotel experience in my life and I will never again give them my business.

Needed Improvements The pictures on the website are nice and only represent one of the buildings. We were placed in an old looking building. Internet Connection was limited to 2 out of 5 hotel buildings. Strengths Parking was free and conveniently located. There were 2 pools, 2 toddler pools and 2 lazy rivers on the premises. The hotel also provided tubes for use in the pool

We had high expectations for this hotel. However, we were sorely disappointed. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived. When we were finally able to get into our room, it lacked alot to be desired as far as cleanliness. We discovered several large ketchup stains in various areas of the room and there were cob webs in a couple of places. The refrigerator was rust covered on the outside and our in-room safe malfunctioned three times locking our car keys inside. When we called for maintenance to come and repair the safe, our average wait time before they showed up was over an hour. We called for extra towels and wash clothes a couple of times and it took approx. two hours each time before we received them. All in all, our stay wasn't pleasant and we will never stay there again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 22Clean, Convenient, Poor Customer Service
I loved the convenience of the location. On the South end, easy in and out to Kings Hwy ( resturants and such ). The room was comfortable and clean. We arrived late, the refrigerator in the room was not working, called the front desk first thing following morning - they said maintenance would right up - 3 Hours later they exchange the refrigerator-mainteance apologized for the condition of it, explained it had been in storage and that housekeeping would be in shortly to clean it up -- They never came- and the inside of the doors were rusted -- Didn't look very nice - but did work. They were several very unruly children in the pool / lazy river area. Although it should be the parents responsibility to correct bad behavior --it they don't -- I believe Hotel Security should get involved when it's to the point of All lazy river tubes in pool -- none in the lazy river and 3 young boys have 4 tubes each stacked on their bodies and others would liked to have used the lazy river.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 22Our stay at the Springmails Beach
Wish we had been warned of the airport being so close, heard many airplanes taking off throughout the day, but quiet at night. For the price I expected alittle more. Upkeep was lacking, chipped paint, old carpets, hard bed and super thin pillows. Low water pressure in the shower and sound seemed to travel due to the large crack under the door to the room. I really liked the shower caddy in the tub that held the shampoo and such, but unless you wanted to guess at which was which of the three, could not be used. Parking was alittle bit of a challenge also.

The hotel location is great! The price I paid for the rooms was not worth it. The room furniture was old and outdated, however the beds were comfortable. The pools were disgusting, they were dirty and smelled sour. The cleanliness definitely needed improvement. There was sand along the base boards that was packed in there for who knows how long. I know sand gets everywhere but I have stayed at other places on the beach and know that this can be cleaned. If you don't mind a little grime than the location out weighs the lack of cleanliness.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 22Stay somewhere else
We planned this trip basicly around and focused on the beach with a good hotel not the best but a good decent rate hotel. This hotel has such good ratings and we were very disappointed. The room was okay, what I imagined and everything. I brought my laptop and used the internet earlier that day, later that night I tried to use the internet and it was down so I delt with it then later it started storming so we turned on the little 22 inch TV and it was nothing but snow. They had not updated the TV in that room for the digital transition but when we look ed out on the balcony other rooms were watching TV on big plasma screens. So we watched the rain all night and watched as our front hotel door let water in flooding our room and kitchen. The next morning we complained and got a new room and free breakfast. It turns out that that first room we were in was not suppose to be given out yet. The second room was just as bad, it was flooded and the tub was backed up too lol. If it wasn't for the beach we really would have had a horrible time.

I would not recommend this motel to my friends, maybe to my enemy. We went to our room and the door would not open. We had bad luck getting into two different rooms and still had no luck and many calls to the front desk with my cell phone to have some one let us in., If you like waiting for some one to let you in to your room and hours later to finally get into your room this place is for you.

Very disappointed with service. Called front desk for more coffee, waited over an hour, then found out no-one was sent up. We got some from the housekeeper. Had no towels to take to the pool area. Restaurant was closed for the weekend and nothing close enough to walk too except the cafe. Not what I expected for the cost.

The room was nice, people were friendly, view wasn't too bad, however the bed was rock hard, and the pools are very very very very tiny and crowded. Also, there was extremely limited parking. We had to park in the street. The price was great and its a great place to stay if your going site seeing all day and just want a place to sleep.
