Good location and convenient parking garage for a fee, but the breakfast was way overpriced, the service was crabby, and the rooms were not clean. The bathrooms were nice and the receptionists were friendly.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 3Needs Improvement
The Grand Hotel du Nord was, at best, quite shabby, the carpeting was threadbare, the windows were so dirty you couldn't see out of them during daylight hours. The lighting in halls as well as sleeping rooms was poor. The "lounge" consisted of hard (plastic) chairs and a couple of tables - not a lounge type room at all and to lessen the comfort of this room even more the dirty laundry was piled up in the "lounge" every day. We did meet people who were very happy with the hotel but they also said they were looking for the least expensive hotel they could find and this met their critiera. My bath linen was clean and sparkling white, my bed linen was torn, but clean. I have no real complaints except that I expected more since the hotel was highly rated in Hotel.com

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 3Worst hotel ever!!!!
Do not book this hotel! It was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We have lived/travelled in Europe for over 12 years and this is not even a one star hotel. Our room was over the laundry room and in the very early morning the generator kicked in and our room literally vibrated. The bed was a box spring and not a mattress! The room was old and smelled like mold. The shower was so small with a high tub that the entire bathroom was wet after a shower! Our window opened up into an alley way that began to be busy at 6am. Even with the window closed it was impossible to sleep. I barely slept 3 hours. We had just one towel although we were two. I did complain to the two girls at the desk at 6:30 am. Asked them why they would place a guest in such a room. They knew exactly what I meant by the vibrating room! Their attitude was smug and they were saying not so nice things in french! They said because it was prepaid they could do nothing. Reims is such a small place that there are so many other choices within a 2 minute walk.
