Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 13Last night in paradise turned out to be a horror!
For out last night in Maui we decided to spend it on a beachfront property at what appered to be a very affordable price. Location is very good, rooms average nothing to exciting, kinda dingy but for the price, it works, sound of crashing waves makes up the difference. The bad- The check in went smoothly as we were greeted by Jen who was very sweet and friendly, we got to our room and for the rest of the evening were tortured by the sound of foot steps leading up and out of the room above us and by the cronic stomping taking place above our ceiling. We finally decided we'd had enough, and called the front desk and see if anything could be done. We were told it would be taken care of. nothing changed. Couple hours later and without sleep the stomping continued and had to talk the people ourselves to cut down the racket not once but twice. Front desk was notified in person and all we received was a shoulder shrug and a smile. No form of compensation or refund offered. We were told that any problems with our stay should be dealt with by Hotels.com. Needless to say we were not happy about how things were dealt with. no sleep all night :(

Fantastic ocean front room that is a must to spend the extra few bucks. Only problem was not even being able to hear the waves crashing to calm you due to the upstairs party that literalyy went on till after7am. It was horrible. Called front desk about it but nothing was done. Could have been a very cozy stay. There is only one restaurant nearby so make sure you are prepared to go into town to eat in Kiheu. Great foo, entertainment, and awesome shaved ice!

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 13It was cheap
My husband and I had originally planned to travel to Kauai for the remaining 2 days of our honeymoon, however weather did not permit. Instead we moved from Kaanapali to the Aston Maui Lui in Kihei on the island of Maui. The room rate was the cheapest we could find on the island. However, I would rank Motel 6 a 3-star resort comparitively. On the property next door to my room was a completely boarded up building. You could see right through the broken out windows and missing doors. Once in the room, we had to rush to open the windows and run the a/c. There was a musty, moldy smell. I started to unpack our things and found a little guest (small gecko) in the bathtub. I took a picture and sent that to my friends. During the two nights of stay, we didn't sleep very well. It seemed as though the beds had not been turned or replaced since 1989. After this experience, I'll be sure to confirm sleeping arangements well in advance.

I would rather camp on the beach than stay here again. Dirty dirty dirty. Walls had stains all over, bathroom look pitiful and the parking situation was a mess.

My seven year old son chanted, Maui Lu, crappy poo!! The folks that ran the hotel were awesome. The hotel is in major need of renevation!! The bed was clean but the carpet, and walls were awful. I would not recommend or stay in this hotel again.

The resort was a breath taking getaway in its day. The lack of repair to the buildings, pool and grounds was dishearting. The smell of mold in the 1st room was unbearable. The second room was a little better but my shead is cleaner.

this was the worst place I have ever stayed at, the people that worked there were quite nice but , it was not on the beach as tries to lead you to beleive. I will reconsider staying with any astin resort without proper research. the maintence person In charge should be strung up for doing the worst work and repairs I have ever seen.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 13OK place to stay
The hotel does in need of repairs but it is not as bad as other people said. The staff are friendly and the garden is lovely. Think of it as an older but clean motel on Maui and you won't be disappointed.

This hotel provides no food and has no restaurant. There are no restaurants within walking distance. No kitchenettes for preparing pre-purchased food, either. Rent a car if you stay here!
