Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 35Some Good Some Bad
Good: The kids pool was awesome and my 2 year old loved it. Beach access was great. Bad: Employee at check-in was rude from the second I walked in. I was told no to 2 parking passes but the person checking in beside me got 2??? I had to pay $6/day to park my second vehicle. Room was somewhat clean, we put the comforters under the bed and didn't use them because they were grimy. The AC randomly cut off and I had to reset the breaker. The fridge apparently warms up when you put groceries in it and takes 6 hours to cool down and still never got COLD COLD. The Room door weighted 800 lbs. and slammed shut. This was very noisy and impossible to open and close at night with a 2 year old sleeping. Overall: I would not stay here again. If it wasn't for the kids pool and the smile on my daughters face we would have moved to another hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 35Budget Hotel
You get what you pay for. 1) There is no convienent internet service. There's an internet cafe in a different building and it closes at 4:00. so, if you need to work on your laptop and need internet service after 4:00, you need to stay at a different hotel. 2) When I booked online, I didn't realize I would be staying at the part of the hotel that looked like a budget motel. We were on the third floor with no elevator access. The room was located outside, which wasn't safe for me or my children. 3)When I asked to change to an interior room I had to pay more. I won't be staying there again. 4) The room I switched to was better and had an ocean front balcony. If you stay request an interior room with an ocean front balcony. You get what you pay for.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 35Mediocre
This is definitely a three star hotel. There was nothing special about it. I've stayed at just about all the resorts in Myrtle Beach and I wouldn't stay at this one again. It's not that there was anything completely wrong or horrible I just know there are better places in the same price range. ( I like compass Cove, it just wasn't available this weekend).

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 35Fun for Kids, but Not Adults Traveling with Kids
We were satisified with our stay on the fun level for the kids, but very disatisfied at the same time. The room and hotel were very clean, although the "renovations" were purely cosmetic...ie. paintable wallpaper in the bathroom, etc. It was in a decent location and had lots of pools and a water park area for the kids which was a lot of fun. Now the negitives. When we checked in there was a security guard directing us where to park and told us we had five minutes to complete check in and would need to hurry back to move the van. The permanent parking is across the street in a parking garage. There is no cross walk or lights so you have to just wait until it's clear to cross, which on a Saturday night turned out to be a very long time. This was also not ideal for a 2 and a 6 year old, so one of us would go get the van while the other just waited on the sidewalk with the kids, because we were already checked in and couldn't use the 5 min parking area. We were there for a weekend wedding so we were in and out several times. You can imagin the headache that was. The other not so nice thing was when I did check in the staff were not very friendly. They also had a staff member stationed at the top of the kids water slide who kept yelling at the kids to stop running. They should not have been running, but there are nicer ways to say it! Another drawback to our area was the hotel doors. They were so heavy they slammed on their own and make a loud noise. We had to listen to people slamming in and out all night. The ultimate negitive, however, were the beds. Some other posters commented on the hardness, I wish I had listened because they were right on! The beds were newer but they were rock hard and the pillows were like pancakes. I am not kidding here. I had to fold one pillow in half and place it on the other one to get the height I needed and then they were hard too. Thank goodness the kids took their own. My husband and I did not hardly sleep the two nights we were there.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 35Needs improvement
The hotel has been recently updated however only in visually pleasing ways. The beds we clearly very old and extremely uncomfortable. The tvs only showed 2 stations one of them being the Myrtle Beach hotel station and the remote didn't work. I was very unhappy with this hotel stay and we actually checked out after the first night and went to a different hotel dispite the fact that we had already paid for the second night.

roomwas not clean. Was a kitchette and the kitchen area was not clean when we checked in to include the utencils. The shower curtain was torn and the blanket had many holes in it. Must of been on the bed since the opening of the hotel. A lot of undeciplined children running all over the area. Could not use the water facilities due to the kids misbehaving. Their was a lazy river, which was very nice, but kids did not follow the posted rules and were jumping in and out of the waterways causing us not able to enjoy it. Mentioned this to one of their parents and was told that they are kids and thats what kids do even though the rules were posted in big letter all over the facility. Didn'twant to argue with anyone so we just lefted the area. Would certainly not recommend this hotel for anyone that didn't have any children with them. The only thing we enjoyed was the ocean view we had.

We were "upgraded" from a 2 bed to a 1 bed which I did not request or want. I was then charged for the upgrade. The room was nice but not what I had reserved. The hotel is right on the beach and along a strip with many places to eat and things to do. All within walking distance. The pools were fine for my son but they were all still pretty cold for being "heated." The hotel staff was unfriendly upon arrival but warmed up later on. FYI....the internet cafe closes at 4pm and there is no internet access available unless you can connect to a neighbor hotel!!
