"Not as nice as it may seem"

I stayed at the Paris hotel in October. The people at the check in desk were really nice. The beds were tough and hard to sleep on. The bathroom didn't have toliet paper or soap. The pool is only open till 5 PM. The casino was really nice, but the buffet was really expenisve. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

TERRIBLE SERVICE and BORING

My friends and I booked this hotel because of it's location and star rating. We are all in our late twenties and early thirties, and were THOROUGHLY dissapointed with this hotel. From the beginning, we had TERRIBLE service. The check in lady was rude and the room service attendants were even ruder. My husband actually said that he didn't want to order room serive anymore because he didn't feel like dealing with their attitudes. My husband and I booked a King room, but were told upon check in that there were only two queen rooms available. When we asked to be put on a list to be switched, the lady cut us off midsentence, and told us it "wasn't going to happen". In addition to the HORRIBLE service, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, food took FOREVER to be delivered to the rooms, and the hotel itself was incredibly boring. It was probably our fault for not researching more, but the Paris isn't exactly a "hip" hotel. Everyone there was a little more mature in age, and everyone looked at us like we were crazy when we headed out for the night dressed up. I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE, but especially any younger people looking for a fun hotel.

Room Misstep

My trip to Las Vegas was less than 48 hours. I was only spending 2 nights at the Paris and had requested a non-smoking room with a king size bed. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, we were giving a smoking room with 2 queen beds. Needless to say, the room smelled and we were uncomfortable. On the next day, they moved us to the type of room that we requested, but I would think that for such a limited time, they would have gotten it right the first time. Instead, we couldn't unpack and we had to halt our planned sight-seeing in order to make sure our things were moved correctly.

Needs Improvement

Considering that the Paris hotel is not one of the cheapest hotels, I received bath towels that were torn and frayed. Finished room service meals that were put in the hallway for pickup remained there overnight creating a smell. Just not what I expected it should be.

Disappointed

My disappointment began when I had to wait over 45 minutes to check in. We asked why the wait was so long, and the clerk had responded that they were understaffed lately. They did not apologize for the long wait. The hotel and casino atmosphere/ambiance was nice. I would have preferred a more comfortable bed and was not impressed with the bedding. There were only two thin sheets and a worn-out blanket. Do not expect any extras - no coffee pot, extra blankets, mouth wash, etc.

Great location, nice theme and decorations, but small rooms, not inexpensive.

Paris is a beautiful hotel that is nicely decorated and in a nice location. The room itself was rather narrow and reminded me of a cramped, cruise line room. The TV was an old 19" tube type. The bathroom was roomy though and had an elegant look about it. I opted for the free food lounge on the 31st floor. The lounge was always too crowded. I did not appreciate the need to scramble to find a seat. The lounge did not have a 4 star hotel feel; It felt more like the free continental breakfast at a side of the road motel, in a small midwestern town when they were hosting a Hatfield family reunion. Also the selection of food would be better called snacks. So I recommend you not pay extra for the food lounge. The price of the room was not bad but for the money and reputation I expected more.

Expensive

Both my wife, and myself are non-smokers, so found that almost everywhere you go you will find smokers, including the casino's/bar's/restaurant's! The Restaurants, and Alcoholic drink's are extremly expensive. Hotel is Ok, but expect alot of congestion, especially from check-in desk's to the elevators, as the walkways are very narrow!..very long queues to get into the more popular restaurant's, at the more important time's of the day.

Opportunities for Enhancement

When checking in, the front desk resources all left the reception area, without acknowledgment, and it took a while for them to return. There were probably 12-15 people in line, and one by one, they returned, there were 3 front desk resources at 2:30 PM. The rooms and hallways do not reduce outside sound well. The pillows are stiff, the linens were rough. I was at a conference, and it was difficult to reach due to the narrowness of the hallways to the center, shops, a buffet with long lines, increases the crowding of the hallways, appears busy, but felt congested. Service in the restaurants was slow and in the stores by the elevators, incredibly slow. The gaming was disappointing, outdated machines, very smoky interior for the higher level ceilings. When I checked out, I received the extra charges for my bill, using the telephone and buying water, and that was it, an incomplete bill. So I will have to get the rest electronically.

Needs Upkeep

I have always admired the architecture of the hotel and look of the casino at Paris. However, the rooms and hallway were in need of upkeep. For instance, in the hallway the wallpaper had been pulled away from the wall - apparently to repair a leak. For the entire 5 days we were there, nothing was done to repair it, except to apply some masking tape to hold it down. All of the baseboards and lower parts of the doors were badly scuffed - definitely in need of paint. The showers had developed a layer of "crud" around the doors and the mirror frame needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, the room seemed clean. Our room looked out over an area that discarded pool furniture had been thrown. We didn't mind not having a decent view, but did mind looking into a dump area. The lobby, casino and restaurants looked fine. The food at the Eiffel Tower restaurant was wonderful, including the service. Mon Ami Gabi had a great breakfast, though a bit overpriced. Il Cafe lacked in service, organization and quality. The food was okay, but not great. We waited at the head of the line for about 20 minutes, while the only person who was allowed to seat us took care of a bill from customers who walked out before their food arrived. The buffet was the most disappointing of all. We ate both breakfast and lunch there. The food was inferior. I have eaten at many buffets and this was truly disappointing. The dealers were all very friendly and made the gambling enjoyable, when we could find a table open. With the recent recession, it was apparent that the casinos have cut back on the amount of tables they run at any given time. We will probably never stay there again, though would go to gamble if convenient.
