Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 38Great Anniversary Weekend
We're originally from Baton Rouge and have spent a lot of time in New Orleans over the years. So we felt we knew what to expect when we chose the French Quarter location of the W to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We expected a great location, acceptable service, and for the rooms to be nice but worn from years of Mardi Gras revelers. We were thrilled to find excellent service and a lovely room with a courtyard view. Best part for me was the down bed and the spacious bathroom with a large marble makeup counter - making getting dressed for dinners at Bayona and August a pleasure. My only complaints: 1. The cover of the ironing board was a wreck making it tough to press clothes. I chose to muddle through it but am confident they would have brought a replacement had I taken the time to ask. 2. The large slate and glass shower was great and mostly very clean, but some mold in the corner was a bummer to see. A sparkling clean hotel shower is pretty critical in my view (although, admittedly, not always easy to come by). Beyond these minor annoyances, the hotel staff was charming and ready to help us with everything we asked of them. The "Whatever, Whenever" policy was in full effect and we used it often. Oh, and the bar is fantastic. Bartenders were fun and knowledgeable on wine, whiskey and the latest restaurant buzz.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 38Not bad
The room given to us was quite noisy --at 6am each morning waking to the sound of construction and garbage trucks did not seem like a nice way to relax on vacation. Given the OFF season time of year, they should have given us a nicer room looking over the pool instead of the building under constrction across the street - as i am certain the hotel was not full. NOLA is pretty much a ghost town this time of year. other than that the room was very clean and nice.

I hope no one else hears about this gem in the Quarter so I can get a room the next time I need one. It may be 10 or 20 dollars more than a few other hotels, but the jump in quality is amazing.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 38Great location and service
short walk yi either bourbon st or the business district this hotel had everything you could need nearby and the service within was outstanding. Rooms aren't as "work friendly" as I am used to but that's not really what the W is all about. I would return without hesitation.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 38A Great Hotel
Convenient location right in the middle of The French Quarter. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The absolute best part of this hotel is the outside courtyard. It was AMAZING! No, this hotel wasn't exactly priced for those on a limited budget, but for what you get it is worth every penny. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel very stylish and modern but located in an older building. Lots of neat little details throughout. My only complaint about the hotel would be the bathrooms. There was no tub and the shower had hard water stains/calcium buildup all over them. They could've used a better cleaning by the houseekping staff. Other than this, the hotel was perfect!

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 38Lovely Stay at W
Great location, great service. Also had a fantastic meal at the hotel restaraunt, Bacco. We were there during Mardi Gras and Valentine's day. So things were very busy, but the staff was still more than happy to do whatever they could for us. Room was small but nice/modern. Hotel is VERY pet friendly, which was great for us (we brought our 13 year old lab and he had a great stay). Location is just off the quarter..everything within easy walking distance, but you don't get as much traffic and noise at all hours. They do charge an arm and a leg to park at the hotel (especially during Mardi Gras). However, I found a coupon online for a nearby parking garage and paid 1/3 of what the hotel parking costs. When we go back to NO, we will stay here...especially if we are bringing one fo the dogs.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 38Primarily Really Great Experience
While walking around the French Quarter, I did not find another hotel better situated than the W French Quarter. It also has a really beautiful courtyard and pool area. That being said, I am convinced they gave us the worst room in the hotel -- our window looked at a brick wall. One of the light bulbs in our bathroom was out and was never replaced during our stay, despite our request. Bathroom definitely designed by a man and badly needs a make-up mirror. But despite those nits, this is now my favorite hotel in New Orleans.Oh, be prepared for loud music all afternoon from the courtyard - -but this is NOLA!
