Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 267Great location, bad service
Great location, but tiny rooms and ridiculously small bathrooms. The internet connection was slower than slow, and tho we complained several times they never fixed it. The bathroom door got stuck in the middle of a night, AC was not working (the maintenance man told us to "keep the windows open"). Hotel lobby was full of drunken girls at night - very disturbing really. Overall, would not stay there again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 267Location great. Everything else so-so.
This hotel is old, so it makes sense that the hallways and stuff are old. The bathroom was old beyond reason. Just not a good bathroom. The room was tiny tiny tiny. Keep that in mind. I knew that going in thanks to other hotels.com reviews. You cannot have more than two people in these rooms or there will be no place to put your bags. The room was an inferno when we walked in and we couldn't get it cold. Too hot. Bed was very soft and the pillows were really thick. Location was great for a Back Bay/Downtown/Theater District adventure. The area is a bit haughty. There was always cabs waiting outside for hotel patrons. Many restaurants walkable.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 267Good, not great
I have no major complaints about the hotel, but I did have higher expectations based on its solid reputation. The bathroom was a little outdated - this was in the Towers (more expensive) section, so I was hoping for better there. Everything was clean and functional, though. The bed was comfortable, and the location is great. Cheap (relative for Boston) overnight parking can be found nearby at the underground Boston Common garage if you don't want to pay the hotel price, pack lightly, and planned to walk around the city anyhow. Our room was bumped up from the standard that I had reserved through hotels.com to the more expensive Towers level without my request or knowledge. When I checked in I just went where they told me, then had a bill slipped under the door for the price difference. The consierge person removed the charge when I explained this, but was a little snooty and offered no apology. In summary: Not bad, but I can't help but feel there's better out there for the money.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 267Poor Experience
Stayed in the Junior Suite. Entire room and bath smelled of sewage the entire 4 day stay. We had to check in later than promised because the room wasn't cleaned on time (no delays either to hold them up). Simple things like the coffee maker in room was broken, lighting in room and bath was horrible, and no ammenities were offered in any room like you would and do expect to see in a hotel od this caliber. Very disappointed with over all stay at the Park Plaza.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 267Uncomfortable and overpriced
No sound-proofing, poor heat/air conditioning, room was totally uncomfortable, no coffee service in room or lobby, I pity housekeeping having to try and clean the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. $11.00 for juice and cereal, $8.96 to print airline boaring passes ($6.95 for computer time & $1.00 for each page printed). It's one thing to be expensive and luxurious, another to be expensive and totally without quality.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 267Good location, bad value
Room had not been cleaned when we arrived (after 3 p.m.!) The room was tiny and dark and the bathroom was so small that you had to close the door before you could sit on the toilet seat. Although the staff are quite good and the location is great, the hotel is not good value for money. There is better value to be had in Boston.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 267location only perk
Before a quick trip to the cape we decided to stay in downtown boston for one night. I thought that the name "Park Plaza" would carry with it some essence of the regal, but alas we were disappointed. The rooms were very outdated, the service was ok, and our room was tiny. but I was happy to be in walking distance to the common. I would not stay here again though.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 267Needs Improvement
We arrived at the hotel at the motor entrance and we were treated so rudely by the valet. They didn't want to help us. It was raining and we were asking for someone to help us with our luggage. We finally had to do everything ourselves. There was also no hot water at night or early morning. There was no coffee in the room either. Plus, every time you called the front desk, you had to wait for 20 mins before you were helped. They can't accommodate so many people!

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 267Needs updating
This hotel desparately needs updated in all aspects. The furniture is old, the television didn't produce a clear picture, and there was no check out available from the room, had to go to the front desk. Also, our room had a handicap bathroom that did not contain the water from the shower, so the entire bathroom floor was flooded every time the shower was used.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 267Not worth the money
The hotel was probably at one time lovely, but it definitely is showing its age. The public areas were well kept, but my room on the Club Level was definitely small and had seen better days. There was a place where the ceiling plaster was crumbling, the paint was chipped on door frames, wall paper peeling in bath, etc. In addition, on my arrival TV not working (turned out to be unplugged) and mini-fridge empty and not working. During my short, 2 day stay we were treated to 3 fire alarms which required evacuation each time. All were false alarms and no explanations were given. All in all, I would not go back.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 267Just Fair
The hotel was nice and historic. The service was excellent. The room was comfortable, but there was no coffee maker, minibar/refrigerator, things of that nature that you would expect in most hotels, especially for the cost of staying in such a prestigious hotel. There is an Internet hookup in the room, but if you didn't bring a laptop and need to use the computers in the hotel business center, it costs $6.95 for 15 minutes on the hotel computers, 45 cents per page for the printer. Couldn't beat the location, but I would have been happier in a Hampton Inn, Hilton, or Marriott.
