Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 19Terrible hotel but a decent location
The hotel was filthy, mold on the bathroom ceiling, uncomfortable beds, no lock on the door and a broken coffee maker. I was first in a room overlooking the luau but it was way too loud and the A/C was broken so was moved across the hall. It was still very loud but tolerable. The room smelled stale and moldy. The walls are very thin as I could hear everything next door. This hotel was not worth the discounted price I paid! The only saving grace was that I was able to use all the amentities of the Royal Lahaina Resort which is nicer with pools and restaurants and close access to the beach.

The room was OK and location was great. A bit noisy in the evening due to the Luau show next to the hotel. Also there is no parking available during the Luau. There is no internet access even if you wanted to pay for it.

the website for this hotel is very misleading... we thought we were going ot be in the main hotel instead we were in a another building. it was an older building. housekeeping was horrible. i called for housekeeping to come back that the room was not clean, the mirrors were dirty, the counter had sand on it for two days. House keeping did not come back to clean the room. The base boards and door frames looked like they had never been dusted. the sliding door that went out to the balcony was very hard to open! parking was horrible! this was the worst hotel stay ever!!!!!

Even for the low price, this hotel was old, ugly, dirty and uncomfortable. We stayed for one night because we got to Maui very late at night. The next morning we got up and cancelled our reservation for the rest of the week. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!

Bathroom had plaster patched wall, unsanded and not painted. Safe malfunctioned security could not get it to work. Hallways dark and tired. Concierge was very helpful though. The hotel should go by its more recognized name "Royal Lahaina"

The Ocean Inn is an older building in the resort and is badly in need of renovation. It's clean but showing it's age and n ot everything works right and the plumbing wastes a LOT of water. Also, they charge $10/day for parking, which I didn't know til I got there.

There were ants! We didn't even have any food in our room and yet ants! When we called them to move rooms, there were very accommodating and moved us to a beach front cottage. But even then, by the time we woke up in the morning, ants in that one too! Luckily we only stayed 2 nights.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 19Old & worn out
I guess this hotel is the forgotten "old maid" in Kaanapali. The location was beautiful but the hotel left a lot to be desired. The registration desk is at another hotel, but there were not any signs direxcting us to the desk. After wandering around the building for close to 45 minutes we finally asked a guest who was lounging on the beach where we could find the front desk. While the room was comfortable. it was old and worn out. The TV did not have a remote. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower was moldy and leaked and the toilet seat was cracked. While the place was cheap, We were very glad that we were only staying for one night.

It was impossible to find check in desk. It was located in another hotel. We finally had to ask some other guests who were sitting on their balcony. Bedroom was very old but ok, TV did not have a remote. Bathroom was disgusting.

During the night our hotel room flooded, they were not very accomodating, and did not offer to pay for the room for the night, and we were up most of the night cleaning our things and having our clothes dry out. The room smelled of mold before it flooded and I was not impressed with the staff.

Unfortunately this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Although it was fairly inexpensive compared to other nearby hotels, I was still dissatisfied with the lack of amenities, and unattentive food and beverage staff. The property needs a lot of upgrading in terms of rooms and things such as lighting and plumbing.
