Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 14Needs Improvement
Ok for the Money, But the hallways need restoring with new carpet and Wallpaper/paint. I went out early in the morning and returned in the afternoon with the room as I left it. I left off my purchases and left again. I found a housekeeper at the extreme end of the Hall and requested some clean towels. When I returned late in the evening the room was finally cleaned up. It seems to me they need more help. Good things--there is a Coffeepot with coffee, tea, cream and sugar. Also a Small refrigerator and a microwave in a Area separate from the Bathroom.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 14very happy with our stay
we did not want to spend a whole lot of money because we were only stopping over. We chose this hotel because of the reviews. So I feel I owe this back. I was very happy with our stay there. The staff went out of the way to make our stay pleasant for us. We were surpised at friendly everyone was. I was a little worried when we showed up and there was work being done to the outside, but someone was right there to pick our bags up and carry them inside which as very impressive. And the inside was wonderful! Very elegant! And again, the frontdesk and staff were wonderful. Very helpful in finding us places to see close by. And a limo! to my appt the next day. The breakfast the next morning was great, lots of choices. And checkout was very easy and quick. The price may be three stars and maybe the hotel building is three plus (very small pool and no hot tub) but the staff is a five star! I have traveled to vegas, san diego, l.a., and s.f., and this topped any place I have stayed in the past. Kudos to the staff.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 14Exceeded our Expectations
Recently we spent nine days at the Royal Garden in Waikiki. We were delighted by the size and comfort of our room. The view included part of the canal as well as the ocean. We were very pleased with the hotel parking which was 14 dollars a day and worth it. The different bellmen were very friendly and efficient. The pool was very clean and refreshing with saunas and restrooms by the pool area. Towels were provided by the bellman at no cost. The location turned out to be very convenient for our vacation agenda. If you do not have a vehicle, The Bus and public trolly stop is only a block away. It is an easy walk to the beach by the Hilton. (Just a reminder that there are firewalks every Friday night at that section of the beach.)We would definitely use this hotel again.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 14It Not Bad for the Price
I agree with most reviews for this hotel. The staff was friendly and like other reviewers have said the lobby and public areas looked nice; however, the rooms were mediocre. Remodeling is on going on the exterior at this time. Seems like they have placed more time and emphasis on updating the public areas. If they did the same with the rooms I think this would be a fine hotel to stay at. Free internet access is available in the lobby, but there is a charge for in room access. Parking is $14/day and not $18/day as I had previous read somewhere. It is within walking distance of Waikiki Beach. Lastly, pool hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Seems a little early for the pool to be closing to me, but they said the residental neighbors have complained about noise in the past. Overall, I think it's not a bad hotel to stay at if you're on a budget and planning to spend most of your time at the beach or sightseeing.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 14Bang for your Buck!!!!!!
For the price that we paid, it did exceed our expectations. We were surprised to get a hotel at that price anywhere in Waikiki. The staff is extremely friendly and the concierge service was excellent. The beach was about a 5 minute walk and the Waikiki strip was right around the corner. If anything bad I would say that the pool is very small, as well as the tv (but who really watches tv while in Hawaii). There was also some renovations going on, so there was some noise and construction at the entrance. It's definitely not a 5-star hotel but you can't expect that at the price you pay.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 14Nice hotel with good value
I enjoyed my stay here. The location is great, just minutes walk to waikiki beach and very close to those stores. You can have a good canal view at the hotel. I arrived here at night, however the staff here are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and they maintain it well. You have to pay for the parking here $14/day.The parking guys are very friendly.I think the hotel is of great value for the price.

Friendly staff, conveniently located, great rates. Keep in mind, they are renovating and there is a bit of noise during the day.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 14Reasonably priced, clean, friendly staff
If you are vacationing on a tight budget, and you would rather save the money for activities such as swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, dinners, etc, this hotel is perfect. It is not a resorts, so all you do is sleep here. But, it's clean, quiet, and has a friendly staff. We went to the resorts for dinners and drinks, and went swimming in the ocean. We didn't need a pool or room service. This was a good money saver and we had a wonderful time in Oahu!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 14A very comfortable, quiet room for a reasonable price.
The staff was outstanding...friendly, helpful. We originally had twin beds and were given a free upgrade to a queen. The hotel is located on a quiet street near Ala Wai Blvd. which was very convenient for long walks along the canal. It is walking distance to the beaches, but far enough away from the crowds on Kalakaua Ave. Can not say enough about the staff. Great people. The hotel is clean & very well kept. Didn't like the bathroom louvered door. The bed should be moved to the opposite side of the room away from the bath. Otherwise, would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.!
