Consider the price

Before booking this hotel room, I read other's reviews. One stated the room looked just like the photo, and the other said the walls were paper thin. Both were correct. Another said the staff was very friendly. That was also true. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a cheap room that's nothing fancy (older and a bit run down), but acceptably clean and a decent sized space - than this hotel will do. The positives: ocean view rooms with (small) balconies, flat screen tv, full sized fridge, clean bathroom/kitchen/sheets/towels (bathrm & kitchen seemed recently remodeled). The negatives: an early wakeup call that I hadn't requested, a thermostat that wouldn't stay at the temperature I set it for (and no listing on the phone/in the room to call the front desk), and, as mentioned above, thin walls. If you're a light sleeper, I would suggest bringing earplugs to drown out noises from neighbors and traffic. If you're not a light sleeper, you'll probably be able to sleep through the various noises for the most part. Tip: request a higher floor to help drown out street traffic/noises. Again, it's a clean, decent room for the price w/an ocean front view. I hope this review is helpful. Safe and happy travels!

I planned a last minute trip and wanted to stay on the beach, we got a room on the 5th floor. The hotel was very old, check in the garage, only 1 elevator that was very slow! The hotel was in need of a make over. Room was very small, but served it's purpose. Small appliances didn't work and front desk didn't care. Walls are paper thin, we heard most of the next rooms conversation. No late check out. The wal way to the beach from the hotel was gross, some was sick and vomited the night previous and it still was there the following day! GROSS! Walking around we looked at all the hotels that were so nice and only a few dollars more. Lesson learned plan ahead!

Needs Improvement

The photo shows the positives of the room, but our suite was small, run down with bedding that needs to be thoroughly cleaned (if not thrown out). There were some updates like the TV, countertops that made the room a good value for the money and comfortable, but the beds, bedding, etc. was gross. The neighborhood was a bit loud, but the location on the water was nice. To have a suite for the price we paid in season was nice, but more updates are needed

small rooms

it's where all the action is. newly remodeled but the rooms are very small. the building needs some renovations. it's right on the beach and if you just need a place to crash then the price can't be beat.

Hotel has seen better days

When we checked in, work was being done to the inside of the elevator. A board separated the space causing 1/3 of the elevator as non-usable, though this was corrected by the next morning. Though a guest needed a room key to use the elevator between 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the stairs were not locked, so someone could simply walk up the stairs, not much for security. The bedroom, too small for two queen beds, each were up against the wall with just a little space between the beds. The balcony was extremely small, too tight to get three people on it at the same time. For the money we spent, the hotel and room could have been much better. I would not choose this hotel again.

WORST HOTEL IN VA BEACH!

This hotel is by far the worst in all of virginia beach. I am a frequent traveler, and stay in many hotels. I have been to virginia beach over a 100 times and have stayed in many different oceanfront hotels. This time, I found a special for Ocean Suites and booked my stay for 3 days. From the actual room, to the service i received was horrible. First and foremost, there was bugs in our rooms and flys that wouldnt leave. We were forced to close our balcony bc of how many insects kept flying in. (mind you, i have stayed in oceanfront hotels and never had an insect problem) Secondly, the room was tiny. You literally are squished in this small room that has a door to an even tinier living room/kitchen. Not worth what you are paying nightly---whatsoever! And last but certainly not the least, the service we received was awful. Once I checked out, I wanted to do a last sweep of the hotel to make sure I didn't leave behind any of my personal belongings. While I was doing just that, a supervisor , bill c. decided to barge in the room and scream at me for being up there. I literally was in complete shock. I asked him why he was talking to me like that and he said you are no longer a guest at this hotel. I couldn't believe it. I told him I would report him (which I've done) and he proceeded to say that he didn't care. What type of service is this? THIS HOTEL IS HORRIBLE, DO NOT STAY HERE.

Substandard Suite

Very small and cramped. I bedroom has 2 double beds wirh barely enough room between beds. No window in bedroom. One tiny cramped bathroom. No table and chairs for dining. It had a small slab of concrete with 2 uncomfortable stools for eating. Tiny stove with 2 burners and no oven. No pot holders and bare amount of utensils in kitchen. Tiny microwave and small refrigerator which was adequate in size. Very small living space. I would recommend this place for college age adults who do not mind tight spaces. My sliding glass door was consistently broken the whole time we stayed and we had daily calls to maintenance to repair only to have it displace off the worn out tracks. The main attraction is the location. It is midway right on the beach.

We didn't have hot water. The walls are paper thin. you could here people talking in the parking deck all night long.

Still Under Construction

I had noticed this hotel before and it always seems to have a look of being in repair. The Suite I was in had plenty of room in the leaisure area and yet the beds seems to be staked on each other with no room to move. My two boys loved the bunk beds, and tried to entertain them selves by throwing each other off the top bunk. The hallway was cinder block walls with a coat of paint, so it felt kind of institutional. Right next to the beach though and so convinece there.
