Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 22Why do I keep staying here?
I know why - it's the price. It's lower than the Hyatt or the Sheridan, which are the other two similar options downtown. The room was fine, but I was upset there was no self-parking, only valet parking at $23 per night. The last time I was at the Wyndham there was self-parking. The rooms were nice though, and the location good.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 22hidden charges
great hotel if you don't have a car. they charge $23.00 a day to park your car with no other options to park your car unless you want to park it on the street?? not going to happen in that part of town.

hotel was wonderful it was the staff. Made us feel like we were intruding on them when we asked for anything. I would go some where else if I had to stay in Phoenix again,

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 22Subpar
The room was nicely furnished but a little dark. Window was filthy. Housekeeping made quite a ruckus coming into our room at 7:30 while we were still sleeping. he room service food was inedible. Everything closed on Saturday evening in surrounding area.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 22OK hotel
Nice room, but the remodeling in the hotel is still going on and I don't think our room was completely finished - no fridge or micro and the finishing touches were incomplete - baseboards, window frames, etc. The noise from the neighboring room was awful, as was the street noise when the window was open (9th floor room). The equipment in the fitness center is in very poor condition and virtually unusable. The room was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and upgraded linens, and the staff was great, but I would not stay here again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 22NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
HOTEL RECENTLY RENOVATED, BUT THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THE ROOM AND THEY TRIED IT FIX IT TWICE THAT EVENING. ALSO, IN-ROOM PHONE HAD NOT BEEN PROGRAMED, SO COULD NOT CALL FRONT DESK OR OTHER SERVICES. THEY DID COMP THE $19 CHARGE FOR VALET PARKING AND PAID FOR OUR (2) BREAKFAST AND WERE VERY COURTEOUS AND APOLOGENIC. ALSO, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF OUR RESERVATION THROUGH HOTELS.COM. THE RENOVATED ROOMS ARE CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 22I was expecting a lot more.
The hotel bar and lobby were well maintained and inviting but certainly lacked any - "wow," factor. The location was really what sold me because we were in Phoenix over night for a concert at the Orpheum Theater. The hotel service was very good and there were a couple of decent places where one can eat and drink within walking distance for about $6-$14 a plate. (I recommend the Irish Pub Seamus' if you're looking for a pub style atmosphere). The room itself was as clean as it could have been with such terribly old carpet and furnishings. The wall papering was peeling off of the walls, The carpets were stained and ratty, the room itself was TINY for what I paid and it didn't have any appliances other than the little coffee machine. I guess the shabby state of the room does inspire one to spend as little time there as possible and see more of Phoenix. The rooftop pool was decent too, and it was open at all hours too. Bottom Line: Over-priced. Hopelessly tired Rooms. Tiny Room. Great Location for concert-goers. $20-a-night-parking required. Good People. Decent common areas.
Hotel Response
I would like to take the time to thank you for your response in regards to your stay with us at the Wyndham Phoenix. Our guest response feedback is very important to us and always taken into consideration to make sure that we are meeting our guest's expectations. I apologize in regards to the state of the room that you stayed in. I would like to let you know that our rooms are currently over going complete renovation to reflect the décor or our chic lobby. We have provided 32 inch flat screen televisions in each room, new furniture, upgraded and new bed and bath linen, new flooring and lighting. Our rooms will now match our lobby décor. I apologize for the lack of appliances available in the room. Unfortunately, our hotel is not an extended stay hotel and is geared toward corporate travelers. We have provided the amenities in the room to reflect what the corporate traveler requests, coffee pot, ironing boards, irons, internet access and a hairdryer; I do apologize if this did not meet your expectations. We do have multiple sizes or rooms we offer both a standard room and a junior suite room. The junior suite room offers a much more extensive amount of space allowing for a sitting area and small wet bar in the room our standard rooms are the largest in downtown Phoenix in square footage. I would be happy to personally assist you with any future reservations should you be coming back to the Phoenix area to spend time. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you again for your guest feedback.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 22Not worth the nightly rate.
The lobby is very nice but the rest of the hotel isn't anywhere worth the nightly rate. My room was small, dirty, and plain. The bathroom lights were so dim I couldn't see anything and the carpets had stains all over them. For a Phoenix, AZ hotel, the pool was terrible...very very small and dirty. The television in the room was the worst! It was really small, the tv remote was broken and the buttons on the television didn't work.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 22Billing Errors
Hotel requires a credit card at check in. They ended up charging us 275 dollars for someone elses stay and it took four phone calls to get it fixed.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 11 of 22Overpriced
Reserved room with two double beds, they offered me a single-bed room 2 hrs late. Refused it, and was put in room with two double beds. Lobby and public areas nice, rooms very ordinary. Over priced, with only downtown location going fot it.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 22The rooms needs a makeover
The lobby was very nice and trendy, but my room was a dump. It smelled of cigarrette smoke and was very dated and worn. The fitness center equipement was in desparate need of repair. I expected much more from a Wyndham, especially for the rate I paid.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 22Disappointing
The hotel public areas were attractive and well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel has only one restaurant on site. I was not satisfied with the room, however- although it was a good size, and the bed was comfortable, the room in general looked worn, the carpet throughout the room was very stained, and a "non-smoking" room reeked of smoke when I checked in. The area directly around the hotel offered little to see or do. I was there just for a meeting at the hotel, so it didn't matter too much, but if I was there to see Phoenix I would have been very disappointed.
