Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 13Arora
For Gatwick travelers, Arora is a perfect solution. Easily accessible from the far end of the Crawley rail station, it is elegance personified with meticulously appointed rooms and top notch amenities. The bed was comfortable--though not as good as many Marriotts I've stayed in--but the room itself was beautiful and fresh. Be aware a significant mall is less than a block away--I asked where it was at the gift shop and the clerk "didn't know." The desk staff, however, is superb and even printed out a train schedule for me and offered it to be delivered to my room.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 13Almost Great
We stayed here 7 nights total split over 12 days. Longest stay 3 nights. We had 4 rooms and they were all good except for the shower in the east wing, it was in the corner and barly enough room to turn around. The condition of the hotel is great all the rooms were clean and not at all worn. Staff tried to be helpful but fell short most of the time, one night at 3:50am someone tried to get into our room, with a key, the security latch prevented them from opening the door more than a couple of inches but it was loud enough to wake us. When I asked the desk who and why someone would be trying to enter my room at 4 am the only answer I got was "I dont know" that didn't sit well with me. The room servive needs to be improved both in the time it takes and the correctness of the order ( wrong 2 out of 3 times) the restaurant has the same problem we ended up leaving after waiting for a long time only to get the wrong food, then the recook wasn't cooked..So in summary the hotel is great staff and food not so good

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 13Steps from Train to Gatwick! Very nice hotel
Literally steps from the train stop in Crawley. Take the train from Victoria to Crawley, and we were within minutes of Gatwick the next morning, two QUICK stops from Crawley to Gatwick. So convenient. Very hospitable at the reception desk as well---

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 13Comfortable!
The beds at the Arora were wonderful! The bathrooms are modern and luxurious. There was a fridge in the room and the hotel has a very well stocked gift shop, including healthy, fresh snacks.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 13Good find
Chose the hotel bec. thought to be 'near' Gatwick Airport. In fact it was a number of miles away. The good thing about that was no airplane noise. Cleverly compact and modern. Takes an instruction sheet to figure out the system of controlling lights, using kettle, etc. but all went well when we followed the guide. Grateful for non-smoking room. The air even in the hallway of the smoking wing of our floor was potent, but ours was fine. Nearby mini mall convenient except on Sunday evening when everything closes quite early. Van from airport to hotel is convenient, but takes a while to come to the airport pick up point (waited more than an hour for our turn). Going to the airport the next morning was by appointment and worked out well.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 6 of 13Clean, good night's sleep
We stayed here the night before leaving the UK. The room was very clean & stocked with convenient commodities (iron, hair dryer, etc.). The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The hotel is a 10 min. walk from a supermarket/superstore & lots of places to eat. We slept well on a comfortable bed, the room was quiet, & blackout curtains helped. The only strange thing was that the mattress cover sheet (like a fitted sheet) was too short to cover the mattress & mattress pad. I was worried that would bunch up and keep us awake, but it didn't. The shuttle conveniently took us to the airport the next morning, without incident.

Arora International Gatwick is one of the best airport hotels my wife and I have stayed in during our travels in Great Britain.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 13Hotel far exceeded my expectations
After concluding a 13 day trans-Atlantic cruise combined with a 9 day British Isles cruise, we just wanted a comfortable hotel to spend a night near Gatwick Hotel. We booked this hotel through Hotels.com because of it's proximity to the airport. Well everything about the hotel (the check-in, room cleanliness and amenities, service provided and transportation), totally went way beyond what we expected. The value we received far exceeded the price we paid. The hotel is centrally located, just a short walk to a great mall, and an even shorter walk to the train station. (We utilized this and spend the day in London) This is a hotel I will always stay at whenever I am in Crawley area.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 13Watch out for "extra expenses"
Every time we turned around, those items which in America are normally included with a hotel stay turned out to cost extra. If we just picked up the phone and then decided not to make a call we were charged! I must say otherwise we were totally satisfied.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 13okay, but not great
I stayed at the Arora the night before a flight out of Gatwick. The hotel was okay, but not great. It was not particularly convenient to the airport (about a 15 min cab ride). The air conditioning in my room was stuck in the on position and would not shut off. The hotel sent someone to look at it and he couldn't do anything so I was switched to a different room. I was happy about that and I think that the hotel handled things well, but getting to the second room was difficult. The key didn't work, I had to go to the front desk a few times, etc. Both rooms were nice and I think the hotel was fairly nice. It was a 15 min cab ride from the airport, but there is nothing close to the hotel. All in all, I would say this place is okay, but not great. It was cheaper than the hotels at the airport, but not very convenient.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 13Very nice,
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The Crawley rail stop is literally right out the door. Internet access is available (there is a charge). There is a bus every hour for Gatwick.
