Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 45disappointed
How can a hotel in Hawaii close their pool at 6PM, and not re-open it until 9 AM the following morning. The hotel charged $5.00 additional to park on their lot, otherwiswe you had to find a spot somewhere else. They did not tell you where there might be a spot other their own lot.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 45Great location, but need improvement in everything else
We stayed here for 2 nights in late October. We chose it because of its location and price, but we wouldn't make the same choice if we knew what we were getting into. Pros: great location. Close to the airport, central, right next to a park and has water view; Cons: room is old. Bathroom smells. Beds are uncomfortable. Everything is extra: you pay for Internet, breakfast and even parking ($5 per day)

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 45needs updating...no beach access...no wireless
I stayed in this hotel at the recommendation of the client I was working with. Wow, what a mistake! This hotel is old. No frills. Small room. Hard bed. No internet. No breakfast. No beach access even though it's right on Kahului Bay. There are big, black steel fences to keep you from accessing the water. What's the point of staying beachside when you can't go to the beach? Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 45Was probably very nice when it was built ... in the 60s
The Maui Seaside Hotel was what I wanted: close to the airport and (relatively) inexpensive. Also, it had a restaurant, which was convenient. I had breakfast at the restaurant, and it was quite delicious. However, the room's cleanliness was highly questionable, there was no elevator to the second floor, and the surrounding area was not vacation-friendly. If I had stayed here for more than one night or had wanted anything other than a cheap place to stay, I would have been highly disappointed. The view of the bay (if you stood on the balcony and turned sideways) certainly did not make up for the fact that the hotel seemed old and dirty. I got a reasonably good rate, and still feel like I paid too much. Wouldn't recommend.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 45Everything great but the air quality
This is a charming, vintage, close-to-the airport place. But two things made it very uncomfortable: 1) the crazy-busy highway just feet away from the lobby, and 2) when we woke up our first morning, we walked through the lot and across the lawn, smelling smoke and seeing bits of ash flying around. Our rental car was coated with more ash. When the smoke smell started to seep into the room, we knew we couldn't stay. We were told that the nearby farmers often burn their sugar cane fields, which creates this unpleasant environment.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 45Very Low-Budget Hotel
This hotel is very run down and not well kept. I was there for business for a week and would have changed hotels had there been anything available in the area for a reasonable rate, but it was during Spring Break and nothing was available. There is no coffee maker in the room and they only serve coffee in the lobby from 5am to 7 am. The restaurant was out of several items and made me lose my apetite overall. Service was incredibly slow too. My room was not clean. The towels are small and worn out. The bedding is also very worn out and the beds are not comfortable. I paid for parking for the week and rarely could find a spot that wasn't on the other side of the bldg, in an unlit lot. The hotel is located next to a park where lots of homeless people hang out and I didn't feel safe coming home at nite. The location is very close to the airport but I would recommend staying in Kihei, it's worth the 15 minute drive!
