Homestead Miami - Airport - Doral

Beware of check out!

I selected this hotel because I was traveling with my dog. The hotel is very comfortable and was very well equiped and clean. I had to check out before 7am as I was traveling and had to be at the airport really early. My wife had called me (over 20 times)during my stay and complained to the front office that everytime she connected to the room it would ring once and then get disconnected. She was dialing internationally and as the call would connect and go through the IVR, she spent over US$100.00. I attempted to call her but I think my extension was not working properly as after dialing the line would go dead. The last night I called to advise that I was checking out early due to my early flight. I was advised that they did not have anyone at the counter in the morning, so I was to leave my key in my room. I expected a copy of my bill, but never received it. I have know found out that they charged US$120.00 on my credit card for calls made (US$15.00 each)... I just don't think is a good practice. I called to request an adjustment but the "supervisor" would not help and later not even pick up my calls.

Doral is not a good neighborhood. The 2 days I stayed there gave me a feeling it was by the 'hour' hotel if I am not wrong. Staff at the front desk is inexperienced, he charged my credit card twice. The front office closes at 11pm, so if you are a tourist and trying to check-in after 11pm its a nuisance. I will not recommend this place. If you are going to miami beach, then book a hotel near south beach area with parking option.

needs improvement

when i got to my room it looked like the couple that was there before had done what they had to do if you know what i mean! and the room was a whole mess i think they had just left, check in time was after 3pm i checked in after 11pm and i found that room in a disastrous condition and to top it of that was not the room i asked for!

Ok for the price

We arrived at about 1:30am. Hotel doesn't really have a lobby, just a very small corridor with a counter. Office hours until 11pm, so I had to use a courtesy phone next to the door. 15 minutes later, the on-call person opens door and courteously gives me the key. When I got to my room, it was a second floor double, I had reserved a first floor Deluxe King. The room had an odd odor, and a constant noise, apparently an a/c compressor, so we couldn't get much sleep. Next day I was changed to a better room without any hassle, but the poor first impression could not be removed. Housecleaning is available on demand for a fee - I think that's not right. Next time I'll spend a little more for a better place.

Its definitely not a value for money.If it had been a little less priced maybe it would have been better compared to the amenities it has to offer

The shower water pressure was like taking a bath in a water fountian. I trickle for water pressure. Cantacted the hotel staff and said they'd have someone look at it ASAP. After my 3rd day still no change. Also The room was never cleaned the duration of my stay which was three days. Hotel staff when asked said they only do up the rooms once a week.. I've never been in a hotel thats done that before in all my travels worldwide.
