Doubletree Cleveland Downtown-Lakeside

Not what I expected for the price, wow!

Location was ok, only a block from the Browns stadium. Room that we booked on line, was not the room we received. Housekeeping needs alot of work. Had to pay for parking garage, then walk about 2 blocks back to the hotel. Not what I excpected for the price I paid!

Budget Hotel - OK but not great

Hotel is located within walking distance of everything in Cleveland. Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Brown's stadium, trendy warehouse district, etc all nearby. Indians stadium is either a long walk or short cab ride. Staff are nice, but the elevators are terrible. First, they haven't been cleaned this century. Not a good impression when you arrive and they didn't get any better during out stay. Also, they don't work often. On checkout day, Elevator bank of 4 had only 1 working and the cleaning staff hijacks them from 10-11 am so no one is allowed to leave their floor or leave the lobby during that time. You would think that the cleaning staff would look down and see how bad they look. Room was fine on our floor (Hilton Honors floor). It was clean and well appointed. Bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoos etc, but it is small. Bed was comfortable. Very large closet. Overall - OK but not great.

Small Room great location

My room was about the size of a dorm room, me and my boyfriend were constantly jumping over each other. The shower would clog up everytime we got into it. The elevators took forever and were down for a long time forcing us to take the stairs. The air conditioner was extreamely loud. Its in a great part of downtown near the Science Center however, the room was less than impressive. I guess it was a good price considering it was downtown Cleveland and not too far from the nightlife action on 6th street.

Great hotel near footbal and right on lake, room phone did not work.

Needs Improvement

The rooms at this hotel were very comfortable. However it seemed like everything kept breaking while we were there. First morning our shower broke, the next day the elevators broke and we had to walk up to our room. I found the front desk to be rather rude and unhelpful. For example when inquiring about a nice place to eat the woman just handed a map over without even looking up or commenting. This was on a Sunday night and when we went out and tried to follow the map all we met were homeless people asking us for money. There was a shuttle to take us places but I had to find that out by myself. It was never mentioned to me. I wasn't welcomed when I checked in - just handed three cookies - again without a word. At breakfast there were never plates or utensils ready. I had to ask several times to get these and then had to wait around at the buffet. The staff itself (outside of the front desk) were very friendly. The dining staff was doing their best but perhaps they were a bit understaffed.

Average stay

They are going through renovation but the carpets were still in need of attention. It took three requests for help for some place to dine before we got any kind of help and the last person let us know that they had a shuttle that would take us and pick us up. For the price and reputation I found it to be an average place to stay

People were great. The hotel lobbies on the room floors were old and dirty. The elevators were slow

the air conditioner was very loud. the pool was not that clean.Buffet breakfast was overpriced.

Maintenance of building

Elevators not working to capacity during a sold out weekend. Two out of four were not working. Very long wait and people mad. Had appointments and had to wait a long time for elevator. Walking down or up was faster. 12 floors. lots of exercise. Not good for older people. Enter room to watch TV. Remote not working. Called desk. Said "be there right away. 15 minutes later. Had to wait for elevator. WHY NOT FIX!? Not good!

Double Tree Cleveland

Location was nice but service was not, they did not offer a cookie at check in and beside the price of the hotel they charged you to park in the hotel parking lot at 16.00 a night. To me the room fee should cover parking in the hotel lot. Absurd!!!!

Dirty and disappointing

We stayed at this hotel with our 12 week old son on a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was in a great location, but was dirty. The floor hadn't been swept and there was hair all over the bedspreads. The tables were dirty and there was some kind of orange funk on the shower curtain. Yuck. There were also water bugs crawling in bathroom, and our baby got a big red bug bite on his arm during the night. The staff was friendly, but that didn't make up for the rest of the problems. Also, the walls were very thin and we could hear the neighbors partying well into the night. It was like staying in a dorm room. We would absolutely not stay here again.

great location, needs to have better housekeeping

room was somewhat dirty. Bed was very comfy, though. And hotel staff was friendly.
