Tipo de viaje: Not Provided Reseña 1 de 64not a 4-5 star hotel
This is not a 4-5 star hotel. No room service, room was nice but seemed a bit old. Wouldn't stay there again for the money.

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 4 de 64So many problems!
There's very little I can say that is positive about our stay at the Raffaello. 1. The location was great (it really is a short walk to the Magnificent Mile and Grant Park.) 2. The doormen were very nice. 3. The room was clean. So much for the positive, here's all the negative: 1. We were asked to present a credit card upon check-in (as we would expect.) But since we only had a debit card they had to deduct $100 per day out of our account and said that after check-out it wouldn't be refunded to our account for as many as 15 days! 2. The room was about as big as a closet (this is the king-suite.) When walking around the end of the bed we had to be careful not to bash our knees on the dresser because it was so close. 3. The one and only full-length mirror in the room was placed on a wall facing the bedside table and the headboard of the bed. The only possible way of utilizing this mirror would be to slide the table out of the way, or stand on the bed. 4. When they cleaned our room between the first and second nights, the hairdryer disappeared. They didn't empty the water out of the ice bucket. Also we weren't given any clean glasses. 5. Speaking of glasses, there were only 2 in the entire room. So apparently we were supposed to have a drink in the evening and then rinse out the same glass to use for brushing our teeth. 6. The internet wouldn't allow me to log on using our name and room number, so I had to call the front desk in order to get a special pass-code. 7. The restaurant connected with the hotel was closed so there was no room service. They offered some breakfast, but I think they were having an employee walk to another restaurant in order to fetch the food for guests in their own hotel (we saw an employee one morning walking down the sidewalk with a covered serving tray.) 8. They did not make it clear that the price they quoted for parking was a per day price. So we were surprised by the charge as we checked out. We will definitely never stay in this hote

Tipo de viaje: Not Provided Reseña 5 de 64Reservation does not quarantee the room you want
Reserved and paid for 2 nights in "deluxe suite", ended up sleeping in "king size" room during first night due to overbooking... Nobody mentioned word "sorry" No rebates "Please contact the retailer you used for reservation if you want any money back / discounted price" Very dissapointed. Will not recommend this place to anyone

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 6 de 64Hotel Needs:
No Blow Dryer in bathroom, Lighting in Bathroom would be better if light was over mirror instead of being in the center of the wall between lavatory & sink, Hotel should have had information on bus system, since parking situation in Chicago is so bad, everyone uses the bus system to get around. Had a hard time understanding the staff, pretty much everyone was from a foreign country, they were all polite though. On our 1st morning, we left the hotel @ about 8:30, returned back @ 4:00 PM, only to find the room had not been cleaned, reported to the desk, and they had someone up there in less than 10 minutes

Tipo de viaje: Not Provided Reseña 7 de 64Nice hotel , No airconditioning
The room was nice and well decorated. Unfortunately the airconditioner did not work and they were unable to fix it and refused to switch our room.

Tipo de viaje: Business Reseña 9 de 64Decent hotel, not outstanding
The hotel was fine for one night, but I don't know if I would make an extended stay there in the future. I don't know what other hotels in Chicago are like, but this one seemed to be a little heavy with the a la carte pricing, especially considering how much it cost for one night. Internet access was extra, breakfast was extra, etc. etc. The room was pretty comfortable an relatively well furnished, but it was probably too small for some people. The bathroom only had an open shower, no tub. It took FOREVER for me to get some hot water to the shower at night, but it was somewhat quicker in the morning. The towels were rather rough and cheap, more like something you would expect to get in a Best Western or something. The one thing that was really nice was the bed, I had an excellent night's sleep and was very comfortable (which was especially notable because I had a bad head cold and needed good rest). The staff was friendly and helpful, certainly no complaints there. Overall it was not a bad experience, but I will probably look elsewhere the next time I am in Chicago.

Tipo de viaje: Business Reseña 10 de 64Needs more amenities
I was not happy that there was no restaurant or lounge within the hotel. We were also not impressed with tiny bathrooms...and the fact that there was no door on the shower!!! Burr!!! I guess if you are traveling solo, don't care about have food conveniently available to you or a place to escape from your room for a bit, then this is your hotel.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 11 de 64*Everything was fixed, but..
Here's what I found: I had reserved a king sized bed. the room I was given had 2 queens. I was able to transfer to a king size after a half-hour wait for it to be prepared. The room I was given was very small and very warm and when I tried to call the desk about the heat, I found the phone didn't work. I went to the lobby and a mechanic came up and opened my windows (because the chillers were not turned on yet in april) and fixed the phone. I found the room to be comfortable. I loved the duvet and the shower and robe. It was just the original carelessness that made the visit less than it could have been.

Tipo de viaje: With Friends Reseña 12 de 64Great location, not so great cleaning staff.
Upon arrival at the hotel we immediately loved the location, on a quiet street right by Michigan Ave. and the Hancock building. The lobby is beautiful and the employees are very nice. Our room at first glance looked great, beds were comfortable, bathroom was spacious and the TV was great. Further use of the room led us to discover toenails all over the floor (which were not ours) and a sewing pin (thankfully we saw it before we stepped on it). The food they leave in the mini-fridge is expensive and the internet room is outrageously priced. When it's all said and done, we had a comfortable bed to sleep in at an excellent location. Just inspect the room for cleanliness before you get settled.

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 13 de 64Not a 4-star hotel
This hotel should not be rated 4-star. We stayed over Valentine's Day weekend and were more than disappointed with the quality of the hotel and the staff. There were cracks in the walls, the floor squeaked, and the cleaning staff made too much noise in the hallways in the mornings, not allowing for sleeping in. The parking arrangement with the ramp across the street was terrible, and we were harassed by the parking attendants each time we went to get our car, due to miscommunications between them and the hotel staff. Overall this was a terrible hotel experience and we will not stay here again.

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 14 de 64Should Have Been Better
On the positive side;Room was small but nice. Location was great, easy walk to most locations. On the negative;Asked for a fan to be sent to the room, they didn't have one. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 8:18 Sat. morning. I will try someplace else next trip, you might want to also.

Tipo de viaje: Romance Reseña 15 de 64Needs Soundproofing
The room was lovely. The bed was quite comfortable. However, the bathroom was quite small. More shelf space in the bathroom would have been nice. I had to be make sure the toilet seat was down whenever I retrieved something from the shelf for fear an item would fall into the toilet. The biggest problem was soundproofing. I realize that the hotel is an old building that was renovated. However, it was possible to hear normal conversation in adjoining rooms and all conversation in the hallway. The soundproofing is the biggest reason why I would not recommend this hotel.
