Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 58Old Hotel doesn't look anything like the photos
The hotel and the room looking nothing like the photos on the website. The rooms and the bathrooms are very old, not remodelled as they stated on the website. Breakfast is simply some food they get from dunkin donuts or a similar place. The location is good if you need to be near the Boston Commons or the Theater District.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 58Best Price for the location!!
The hotel is a block and half from Boston Common and The Public Garden and a half a block from the subway. You are located in the heart of the theater district and down the street from Beacon Hill. The rooms are very small. You really don't stay in the room only to sleep anyway so who cares!! Breakfast is OK. Fresh fruit, muffins and hot waffles to eat. Hot coffee, tea and juice to drink. A nice way to start the morning. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 58Old world charm but at the expense of comfort.
My wife and I stayed one evening at the Milner. It was on our last night in Boston. The hotel has a certain charm and character to it. It feels very old world and you can imagine any number of exciting things having taken place there. However, the charm quickly gives way to the realization that the hotel is in need of some things. While our room was clean and a very nice note was left on our bed encouraging us to enjoy our stay, the room had a musty smell and was extremely small. The hotel is in need of some restoration as the original materials seem to be feeling their age. The desk receptionist(s) was pleasant and eager to answer any questions we had. There is an elevator and if you have to take luggage past the first floor I recommend you make use of it. The elevator is very small and the door is an older style that only opens half the width of the elevator making a tight fit with large luggage. The stairs are much to narrow to practically take any heavy item past the first flight. Again, a charming hotel that could be even better with some restoration.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 58Old Hotel
Hotel is in need of restoration, windows face shaftways, BUT it was clean, comfortable, centrally located, people were very nice, continental breakfast was available. It was pretty expensive but I heard that's to be expected in Boston.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 58Great location, superb breakfast, needs refurbishments to improve space
This is reasonable value for money. Great location, be careful, some rooms are very small. Friendly staff and generous breakfast.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 58It was ok
The hotel was ok but I probably would not recommend it to friends and family. It is very small and very outdated. The floor in our room sloped. There is no counter space in the bathroom to put your items. We only had two people in our room with two double beds and felt very crowded. The hotel location is out of the way to the heart of Boston.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 58Rude unhelpful management refuses to compensate for noisy room
Window had a large hole in the insulation and thus the room, which was right over a busy street, was really noisy at 2:30 in the morning. Ended up moving to a different room which was fine, but the hotel manager refused to give me any sort of compensation or even pay for my parking, which was $42 dollars, and was extremely rude.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 58okay stay.
Hotel staff was very helpful with all direction issues. Hotel location was great. Rooms were very small and beds were slightly firm/springy/uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay-small room to serve in and not enough chairs/tables to sit and eat. If money was an issue, I would probably stay here agian because of the great location, but if I could afford to stay somewhere else, I probably would.
