Could improve housekeeping

After a very late arrival (pre warned) we waited as the girl manning reception chatted on an obviously personal call. Another girl came to our rescue and was excellent. We stayed in till midday but housekeeping was still on the floor so we put out the 'please service room' sign. Arrived back to find it shoved under door and room not serviced. Contacted desk who sent up some towels.... Staff are a mix of some fabulous and some so self absorbed you wonder if they know they are there to help the customer not vice versa!

Need to fix Air con.

Small but clean as you expected 4 star hotel. But the air condition is nose and louder than motel 6.

Newer green hotel but not that great

This hotel is only 14 months old so its new and clean but the location isn't close to any LA attractions. We were surrounded by neighborhoods and bus lines. We got to the hotel and they told us they had to hold $300 on a credit card for incidentals. I was livid and then you get the money back within 48 hours after check out. I would not stay at this hotel again. Everywhere is LA you have to pay for valet parking, no exceptions so keep that in mind when visiting LA.

Good room for the money

The problem was that we were placed in a wheelchair accessible room and weren't told, so the shower was low, the closet was low and just not appropriate for our needs. The front desk was not very accomodating in terms of moving us, until we had to continuously make a stink. We were finally moved the next day, but were only there for 2 nights.

No really a 'Westwood' hotel.....

Hotel Palomar is a pretty well executed concept, but they miss in some fairly significant areas: 1. They're not really in Westwood - across Wilshire and nearly a mile away in Los Angeles terms doesn't qualify... 2. They can't get valet parking quite right, and since you need your car to get around given their location.... Other little nit picks: 1. peeling wall covering in lobby 2. poorly light/under resourced fitness center 3. no shop for sundries in lobby and none available @ desk (ironically - the guest book in room says they have them, but asking for aspirin @ lobby led to either mile walk to drugstore or ridiculous priced mini bar supply, of which ours had not been replenished) Palomar could be a really good hotel property, but it will never be a great hotel property..
