Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 225wasn't horrible but most likely would stay somewhere else next time.
the lady at the desk was not friendly at all. our room was small but clean. beds are hard and uncomfortable. great view of the bay. location was very convenient for us. great shops across the street. we only stayed one night before a cruise, but probably would be worth spending a little extra to stay somewhere nicer.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 225Do not stay here!
The room we were given was very ran down...Old looking furniture and broken down bed. The room was so filthy you wouldn't want to touch anything. I had to go buy Lysol and spray everything down. We found an old chicken wing under one of the beds...Gross!...the sheets on the beds weren't even fitted, just layed there, unlike the normal undersheets with elastic fittings on the corners. I was bit by a bed bug also. This was the absolute worst hotel I've ever encountered. I even over heard another party complaining about the state of their room. Needless to say they were very upset and said they would report on Expedia where they booked it. However, the proximity to downtown Miami was great. Parking is expensive as well, $15 per day, and you must retrieve your car by 11:45 pm if you plan on going out, otherwise it's locked in the parking garage. Don't waste your time at this hotel, trust me.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 225THE HOTEL VERY BAD
Hotel Continental has been worst than customers commented on the internet. a) When we took a taxi from the airport to Hotel Continental, the cab driver told us that this hotel should be close by government authorities because it is a very bad hotel. b) When we arrived, we saw two ugly doors with glass windows completely black. Nobody welcomed us. The receptionist did not even look at us and he registered us while he was writing something else at the same time. He never even paid us attention. When we told him we had a reserved room , he asked for our names and threw us the register card very rudely. c) Following the suggestion of the taxi driver, we asked them to let us take a look of the room first. Effectively, the elevator wood is not covered and the wood is breaking in pieces. It also sounds as if it needed lubricant. d) The room was too small and was not illuminated. The carpet had a disgusting smelling like if it has been wet for a long time. When I requested another room, they showed me other even worst; trying to cover the bad smelling, they sprayed a deodorant so disgusting that it caused allergy. e) The rooms did not have air conditioned. And the bathrooms had a so bad smelling that I did not even saw them. BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!!! When I requested for the devolution of my money because I did nod want to take any room, the receptionist told us very impolitely that I should call the company that made the reservation before 4:00 pm of that day when it was already 3:50pm, and only waiting for the operator machine it turned 4:00pm. In order to avoid any sickness, we decided to go to another hotel (Marriott) which is very comfortable, big rooms and very illuminated. It was a total change. I hope somebody close that grotto.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 225The worst hotel I've ever stayed in...
This is a horrible hotel - I was even afraid to lay in the bed. Not to mention the hotel services was even worst. This hotel has 300 room, but 20 irons - I requested an iron on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and I finally went to purchase an iron. Terrible Terrible Terrible. Extremely poor condition!!!!!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 225Awful Hotel
The only thing this place has going for them is the location. I should have know better when all the surrounding hotels were booked and I easily secured 2 nts at this location. It was a filthy, disgusting place staffed by rude people. I was also overwhelmed by the late night rowdiness in the rooms, elevators, lobby areas by the overwhelming number of "street walkers." If that is the time of action you are looking for then this is your place to stay.

The location was great! The bed was worn, lumpy and crooked. No vending machines in hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 225We thought it would be fine but what a bad way to start a vacation!
I had read previous reviews and thought that this hotel might be sketchy but as a newly married couple I thought we are poor and might as well try it out since it was cheap. But we wouldn't recommend it!!! We were only going to stay for a few hours of rest. The hotel is really old, but the worst part was the sheets seemed really old and you could see through to the bed. Neither me or my husband got any sleep. The bed was SUPER hard and it was SAGGY too what a HORRIBLE combination. The ventilation was really noisy and so that didn't make sleeping any easier. The only good thing was that a CVS was being built right next door with 24 hour service so that would be convenient and the shuttle to the cruise port was $5 a person.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 225Hated it
First and formost, you have to pay $15 for parking. Also the first room that was given to me had no electricity, then in the other room i found out later after being there for a couple of hours that there was no hot water. It was a mess, you can't pay me to visited that hotel again. I ended up spendind the rest of my weekend at different hotel.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 225needs improvement
For the money we paid and the location we got, I guess I shoudn't have been surprised by the condition of the hotel. The rooms, at the very least, need a coat of paint. The view was great, as was the location to the port for our cruise. I can't believe it hasn't been torn down and a new high rise put there.

The hotel is old and run down..... the rooms are outdated , our mattress must have been a 100 years old ..the springs were broken....when I went to use the hair dryer it was broken ,the maintance man gave me a key to the room next door so I could use the blow dryer. The title floor in the elevator was broken. I was very upset by the time we left this place..

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 15 of 225it was good for the price, but not great
some one tried to break into our room while we were taking a nap, the hotel was ok.. not great, but it was cheap and in a really good location.. so it's just a matter of how much you want to pay.
