Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 25Cold shower and no breakfast
When I booked the room a free breakfast was still included. When I arrived I was informed that the breakfast had been discontinued. Out of 4 nights I had to take 2 cold shower since the water heater was broken. The room had a slight odor to it. Bed and bath was clean. Small fridge & microwave, bring your own utensils. Nice big screen TV. Staff was friendly. Overall so-so, it didn't totally suck but it didn't exceed expectations either.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 25Good hotel, bad parking experience
The Hotel was good but was very upset with the parking, they charged $20 dollars a day and no where was that ever mentioned or even alluded to. When making a decision these things should be mentioned. It also did not help that they disabled my keys because they said my credit card did not go through and I had to go all the way back down with all my luggage and then we found out it was their machine that was not working not my card. Was very disapointed with this stay and I use hotels quite a bit every month.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 25Not bad
updated appearance which was nice. Free hi-speed internet, 42" flat screen (don't have one at home), nice soft comfy beds. Parking was a problem. Website said parking available but doesn't mention a fee. On check in for five days @ $20/day was an extra $100 less to spend on other stuff. after we checked in, I looked at the Aqua website and if I booked directly, We could have saved half of the parking. Hotels.com did price match for us however I should have did more research on the parking before booking.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 25Customer service problems and more...
There are some serious problems with the customer service at this hotel. Maybe i just caught them at a bad time -- not my concern! A girl named Berna at the front desk was terrible on the phone as well as in person. She should be re-trained or terminated. The manager was equally useless on the phone and in person. The elevators are under repair and the fire alarm went off at 6am -- forcing us to clear the building. I called to ask the front desk what that siren was and the person said "I don't know" and she would send someone up to check. Doesn't she know what's going on? The only bright spots were the room attendant "Chaly" and "Larry" at the front desk. They need to get it together. They have other properties that are run much better. Manager's need to be evaluated and re-trained NOW!!!! I don't recommend this hotel until this is resolved -- I want a REFUND!!!!!! Truly,UPSET!!!!, Jeff

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 25ok for one night
The room we stayed in was nice and clean. They had the microwave, fridge, iron, robes. Bathroom had granite countertops but the size of the bathroom was little small. We got our room upgraded so we are not sure how the other rooms are. We had a city view which was not that great. They have a swimming pool which is really small and the continental breakfast is not great either. If you are staying here for one night then it's ok. You would also have to pay $20 for parking. The neighboring parking lots are more expensive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 25Okay but there's better in Waikiki
We purposely booked this hotel to save money. We basically got what we paid for. The place is older, the rooms are okay, no cleanliness problems or otherwise. The bedding is very light. In Hawaii, with 75F the common nighttime temperature and control of your room's A/C, it's not a problem -- but I like heavier bedding. The reviews about parking make it sound like all of Waikiki isn't difficult to park in... it is. Don't worry about it, just don't rent a full sized pickup truck or SUV. We had spent the previous week with a group rate for a convention over at the Moana Surfrider, and the classiness and beautiful grounds of the Surfrider really made the other end of Waikiki with the huge groups of tourists and the towers and towers of older hotels stuffed to the gills with people, really seems like a dump. In all, we weren't in the room for anything other than sleeping, and we got out and enjoyed Oahu during the day. The breakfast isn't anything useful most of the time, as it's just a muffin or bagel and a piece of fruit in an over-crowded room near the 2nd floor swimming pool with surly hotel staff refilling things. Coffee is from a machine that makes it from powder or something. With so much better real Kona coffee available everywhere, it's extra disappointing to drink that swill for any reason -- so I didn't. In all, it was a cheap hotel, and that's what we (thought) we were looking for, and I'm not going to complain -- but if we had a chance to go again, we'd book the Surfrider for the entire stay, just for the classy service, nice amenties and the morning back patio with real grass and a view of the ocean. Duke's right next door to the Surfrider also has a great breakfast buffet for $14.95, which is a steal in the Hawaiian Islands. The Coffee Shop a block away from the Aqua Palms is good, and good prices, but it's also old and run down. Want a great Oahu experience, either cram into the Hilton with all the tourists who like the "whole experience" handled

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 25We got what we paid for
From the reviews we read, I expected way too much from this hotel. It was not clean (mold in the shower and what appeared to be small blood spatters on the wall...ew!)and every morning at 6 we awakened to the soothing sound of the jackhammer from the street. I don't think I would ever stay again. Save a little extra money and stay across the street at the Hilton.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 25Lowsy Service
Room was guaranteed 3:00 check-in. We arrived at 3:00, but did not get a room until 4:00; even then we had to continually ask if our room was ready even after they had checked others in ahead of us.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 14 of 25Old & Outdated, but very nice staff!
The cleanliness of the room needed improvement. The outdatedness of the room needs improving. NO air in the halls and smelly. I would say I would not return, however, I must say that the staff was friendly and did give us a nice cool bottle of water upon arrival. The bathroom could have been cleaner.
