Surprisingly Adorable

We weren't expecting to be placed in a two story suite, so we were especially delighted when we entered the room and discovered a spiral staircase leading to a large bedroom. Even though we had seen the virtual tour, we didn't think that our room was going to be the one we saw. The front desk staff was very helpful and remembered us after checking in. There were plenty of pastry stores and restaurants in the area, but we generally took a cab to a more "happening" neighborhood, although we did go to the Rue Mouftard every day at least twice on foot.

Great for the money

The hotel was great if you're young and want to be close to the train. The neighborhood was safe. The beds were a little too firm and the hotel cleaning staff really pressed you to leave your room early so they could clean it rather than waiting for you to leave on your own. Other than those two things, an excellent bang for your buck!

Good hotel for price

I weas pretty pleased with the Villa Lutece. I personally liked the crazy decor. The room was comfortable and pretty small, but standard in size for European hotels. It was rather far from many of the attractions in Paris, but is was very close (1-2 minute walk) to one Metro stop and a little further (7 minutes) to a Metro stop on another line, making it very easy to get around. There is a laundry mat and a market close by. And the bakery nearby is great (it won best baguette in Paris a couple years ago). And I always felt safe walking around the neighborhood.

Pleasantly Surprised

After spending a few nights in Rome, the hotel in Paris seemed huge! The staff was very friendly and the room comfortable. Since Paris is so easy to get around in; this hotel location was nice because it was close to the train and the subway. There is a sushi restaurant nearby that was great! Also, if staying a while, there was a laundry mat a couple doors down. The staff was extremely helpful with all our needs.

Outstanding Hotel

Upon arriving the hotel does not look like much but the inside is very charming. The hallways look very tight but the rooms themselves are very spacious for Europe. I had a great experience and would stay again. The pictures were pretty true to what you would see.

Good, but no breakfast.

The hotel is amazing the look and style of it was mind blowing. Although when we had arrived we were told breakfast was included, but the next morning they said it cost 18 euros... so where is this free breakfast?

Room small but comfortable. Cost of light breakfast at hotel exorbident. People very friendly. Location good for our purposes.

Not bad

I didn't expect to have room that is so small but all hotels in Paris were pretty much same. We were pretty close to the metro as well. Most of the Hotel staff was friendly and spoke English.

Small and Comfortable

The staff is very friendly, accomadating, and polite. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. The room and elevator had a strange odor like mold at times but otherwise it was a really nice place to stay. We never ate at the hotel because you can get a true parisian breakfast for a lot less just a few blocka away and there a number of choices just take some time and walk in any direction to either train stops and you will find a great bakery or cafe!!!

Just a few Clarifications,

The maids came in with clean towels every day, however, the sheeta were flipped over and replaced on the bed unlaundered. Comfort wise, the bed was hard by american standards, however this is typical of euro beds. The bathtub was deep, and the bathroom adaquate for two people. The desk staff was quite friendly and helpful, however unfortunately on our return to Gare de Lyon, a taxi was called by the front desk, and the driver had the meter on when he arrived. It would've been nice to be informed of this custom, as we would've just gone out to the boulevard and hailed a cab. Cost of very short ride to station,15 euro. In short, don't have the hotel call you a cab. Overall, a decent and clean place. Unexceptional.
