DO IT YOURSELF.

Anything that you want done must be asked for or you have to do it yourself. Want towels? Go down 4 floors to get them. Want your bed made or new sheets? Go down 4 floors and tell them, or do it yourself. Remember that the shower/bathroom is shared with other guests as well as your room so you have to wait in line if you need to use the bathroom. There are plenty of places to eat near by on Broadway and the redline subway is only a block away.

The room served its purpose. It was much better than I expected and we really just slept and showered there. The receptionist was friendly.

Reasonable Price, but money isn't everything

Sink was clogged, but fixed by hotel right away after I asked. Bed had springs that were almost coming out. This should have been checked regularly and replaced as soon as the problem is known. Very quit neighborhood and very close to subway and many restaurants.

Affordable & Nice location

The hotel staff were polite and friendly, but the building was old and seemed poorly maintained. I found my bed to be somewhat lumpy and wondered how often bathrooms and hallways were cleaned. Overall, however, I was outside enjoying New York and attending a conference, so the hotel served its purpose: i.e., giving me a safe place to sleep at night. But don't expect great comfort. The room was bare: no desk, no chair, only a bed, bedside lamps, and a TV that didn't work. Nevertheless, I'd stay at this place again if I couldn't find a cheaper place. It is close to the subway (line 1, 103rd st) and only a short walk to Central Park.

The room was adequate for someone traveling on a budget. The staff was nice & friendly. The hotel has great potentiial if they keep it cleaner

My room was a bit scrubby but it was ok. Toilets have been restored not to long ago and they where clean.

Get what you pay for

This is a hostel and you get what you pay for. A sink, fridge, and tv in the room with a bathroom down the hall. It's small with old furnishings, but the hotel staff is friendly, helpful, and patient. The luggage lockers in the basement require payment (not your own lock) and are a bit pricey if used everyday. It's near central park and a short walk to the subway. Overall it's worth a small price, but not much more than that. If you want your own bathroom and housekeeping each day, stay at a hotel.

It is a bacpackers hotel pretty much, need something cheap and found it here.
