Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 128do not stay at plaza hotel in los angeles
The hotel is not maintained at all. The A/C does not work, didnt get a new room until 8 pm even then A/C barely worked. The paints are cracking and falling apart. The furniture and carpets are worned down. This hotel barely meets the standards of a low end motel, truly does not meet the ratings on hotels dot com. Would I stay here at the price I paid, never. I've had better rooms and service at a motel6 than the plaza hotel on wilshire blvd. Dont waste your time and just skip this place.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 128Disappointment
There's just nothing to compliment about this facility. Poor Management = Poor Hotel facility, including poor customer service. The room was more like a run down motel. The carpet in the room was so distguishing that I could not bare to take off my shoes. Bottom line you really can call Wilshire Plaza Hotel "A hotel"; it more like a 1/2 star motel. Worst Motel 6

The hotel needs to clean the elevator's interior wall and doors (unbelievably super dirty). The receptionest's attitude for late check-in guests after midnight should be changed. So rude!!!!!! My first room was full of ants everywhere. The second room was fine. The receptionist put me in the worst room. Parking fee $20.00/day($80.00 for 4 nights) was too much. I would rather go to five star hotel if I have to pay $20.00 eveyday. No restaurant...? Gym was very funny small.

The hotel was in a good location since it is on Wilshire. The bathtub was clogged the whole stay, the maid was horribly rude, the bed gave me back pains for days and it just looks plain run down.

When you first arrive you think this is going to be great - Great lobby area, friendly staff - and then you get to your room where the carpet is stained and dirty, the beds are circa 1970 (as is the decor of the room) and uncomfortable, and the bathroom is....beyond description. Let's just say the bathrooms need serious renovations. Please note, parking is valet only and is $20 night...not terribly unreasonable considering every location in California seems to charge a fee for parking and during my recent trips I've paid as much as $30/night. In short, if you need a place to crash, this hotel will work. It is safe and in a reasonable neighborhood but if you have a thing for cleanliness, this is not your place.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 128Friendly Staff... Room Needs Improvement
The staff were nice & friendly and so were the valet.... The lobby was just as nice as shown in the pictures.... But the room wasn't... There were a few stains on the carpet floor & the a/c made a rumbling noise every now and then & you could hear the cars and trucks driving by on the street all through the night... I would say that the hotel room was not any better than a Motel 6 room.... I most likely will not be staying here again... But the location was great... and there is a $20 per night valet fee.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 128RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't stay here! I can't say that enough. First off the pictures online are not the hotel! We checked in thinking hmmm not the greatist are but it will do for a couple nights. We walked in and saw the beautiful marble floors and thought this isnt so bad. Then we got in the room. It looked like a crime scene out of CSI!!!! The bed sheets were stained, the carpet looked like somone died on it and the carpet in the hall was stained all over the place. I went outside on the street of a not so good area to make calls to find another hotel ASAP, and checked out 20 mins later. Do not stay here look elsewhere.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 128Should have paid attention to other reviews
My husband said he has stayed at places that others gave a bad review and it was fine... This was not the case. The lobby is beautiful and it stops there. Rooms are old, carpet worn & dirty, water marks on ceiling, mildew in bathroom, tv options terrible. We were taking a quick family vacation to Universal Studios and were trying to save money. Wish we had spent more...

The elevator was old and scary. Made terrible noises and was very slow. Rooms outdated. Cottage cheese cealings had dirty stains, and carpet was stained. Faced a busy street. You go to sleep listening to the sounds of Wilshire Blvd all night long.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 128Outdated and dirty
The hotel has not been updated for some time. The fixtures appear to date back to the 1960s. Moreover, the hotel is not properly maintained. The ceiling in my hotel room, in the bathroom and in the hallway was riddled with water stains and what appeared to be mold. The entire hotel room smelled of rotten eggs and sewage. While the staff was generally courteous, the actual building was entirely uncomfortable and unpleasant.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 128Great Service, Noisy Location
The service was awesome, but the room was very cold. It was also very noisy - you can hear all of the sounds of the big city while you are trying to sleep. There is also no self parking, so there is a $20 valet fee that you are not told about until check-in time.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 14 of 128horrible
We stayed @ this hotel before and had no problem. However, on this trip we had major issues. The lights did not work, the heater did not work (but the ac did because it blew COLD air all night long). We ended up calling the front desk all night and they didn't seem to care. They did fix the light issue by giving us new light bulbs. They gave us a portible heater which was only 10 inch by 10 inch and that did not work either. We ended up getting sick due to the COLD ac blowing all night. Also the bathroom need to be refurbished because they have mold issues. Find another hotel... a few more dollars could have had me at the hyatt or something better

This hotel was on Wilshire but further away from the central part of LA than I expected. It is an automatic valet costing $20 a night. The lobby is gorgeous but thats about it. The elevators were very worn down they sounded like they were about to break any time we got in. They went up when we pushed a level below and visa-versa. The rooms were disgusting water damage all over the ceiling and carpets looked very dirty. Overall it was horrible.
