This is a tired hotel. It needs to be updated. Service was okay. Room was clean but no sparkle.

Dirty and disgusting!!

The hotel was really dirty, with remains of hair from the previous guest all over the bathroom. The surfaces have not been cleaned for a long time judging from the amount of dust on everything. In the morning I told the guy from the front desk what my room was like and he seemed mortified by it and said that would send someone to take care of it immediately. When we came back by the end of the day they have not changed the bed (that I have specifically requested) nor cleaned the hair, or dusted the room. The carpet on the corridors was nasty. It is a shame that a nice, new hotel is kept in such horrible conditions. It was really disgusting. At first I thought I had bad luck, that the maid was in a bad mood and didn't clean the room very well, but when I saw that they did nothing after I have complained I realized that it is just a bas hotel with a worse housekeeping. After that I looked at the reviews on Trip advisor and it just reassured what I have concluded, it is not a good place to stay. Tampa has a lot of better hotels in the same price range. The hotel is very modern and seems to be new, what usually means that it might be clean. Unfortunately for me, that was not the case.

Room for improvement

For a four star hotel rating, I expected the room to be a bit more comfortable. The mattresses are pretty hard, the sheet stiff. The ad for my room said 2 chairs would be in the room and there was 1. The minibar had only beer, soda and snacks, that were priced outrageously.

Very tired

The Hotel is in a great location but the staff was minimal and our room overlooked a rooftop. A "startup" noise sounded every morning outside of what we guessed were the HVAC units on the roof; that wasn't pleasant. The staff in the lounge area were very nice and accommodating.

Don't Bother

I should have paid more attention to other reviews I read on different internet sites. This hotel worn down despite their claims to have been recently upgraded and has elevators that are useless. If you have the misfortune to stay there get a low floor and use the stairs!!!!! The staff was arrogant and unhelpful. The "great" showers and beds were simply regular or sub par. Nothing to write home about. Everything costs extra so you are nickled and dimed to death. The walls were paper thin and we were serenaded with our neighbors until late into the night. It was convenient to the convention center which was the only positive. We would have checked out the first night of the convention if there had been any other options.

Disappointed

The hotel was under renovations. I self-parked, which was a challenge in itself. But, once I got parked, finding out where the front desk was from there was a whole different issue. The floor where you enter is below the lobby, and the bellstand is way at the front, so if you need help, you have to go all the way across the floor and back, which isn't the worst thing, but it wasn't easy, either. The front desk staff wasn't pleasant. I could go on, but why. You get the point. There are other hotels nearby that are better.

Nice bed but maintenance issues need addressing

The Westin Tampa Harbour Island has been remodeled recently and it appeared that they didn't have everything fixed yet. The entrance was still under construction and several times when I came into the first floor entry there was no hotel employee present to help with bags. The lobby being on the second floor was really weird and not welcoming at all. When I came in the first time, I wasn't really sure where to go. The staff was courteous but no one offered to have a bellhop carry my bags at any time. The room was nice, the bed and linens were top quality. However, the bathroom had some issues. The bathtub did not drain adequately so I was standing in several inches of water in the shower. I called the desk and let them know but it was not fixed during my three night stay. The bathroom did not have ventilation, I called because it was totally fogged over, they told me it was a "silent fan." It was apparently so silent it couldn't be heard or seen to be working. I felt for the price of the room, it was not to the standard that it should be. There appeared to be service and maintenance issues that needed to be dealt with.

Light Out

Needs Improvement

The hotel is currently under construction. The elevators do not work on a regular basis. Beware!
