I requested from Hotels . com a non smoking room. When I checked in, which took forever, I was told only rooms available were smoking allowed rooms. The casino is an older one, and the ventilation system does not keep up with heavy smoking. Anyway after a couple of days in this hotel I felt like I needed to take a shower and my sinuses were killing me due to all of the smoke. THe pools were really weak and very cold. The work out room was very small, even though you feel like you are going to get a real elaborate fitness center from the marketing efforts the Hotel sells you where you have a mandatory resort fee. The buffet was poor compared to Las Vegas standards, The price for the room was good, but, it was not worth the money. You are better off spending a few extra dollars and enjoy yourself.

Needs a lot of improvement

Our room was surface clean but we found trash behind the nightstand and bugs in the bathroom. The buffet left a lot to be desired as well. If you are going to charge double what you use to, there should be better options. I use to love the hotel and buffet but not this time. You really do get what you pay for. I am also very unhappy about the additional $40 hotel fees/taxes upon check out. You think you are getting a great rate from hotels.com but then the hotel adds fees on top of it. I would have been better to spend the extra money and stay in a better hotel.

Beware of the extortion

This facility imposes a mandatory $14.99 per day plus tax for some useless benefits which other hotels offer for free. I was refused check-in when I refused to pay the fee, and essentially was coerced into paying this fee. I have stayed at many hotels, and never had this problem before. This run-down place ended up costing me more in the end.

It Great Room Rate

This is my first time staying at Palace Station. I think room were great but hotel fees I didnt know you had to pay extra for something you might not use. The people were friendly and the food is good. I thought rooms was great price and the hotel is vey nice. I recommend to see this hotel and book for luxury room.

Great Value

I would certainly go back. Free Breakfast Buffet was great. The only complaint was the dinner buffet as it was the worst buffet I can remember eating at, ever!

Great room for the money

Was able to check in early. Breakfast buffet had variety. Not crazy about the "service/resort" fee, but if you are able to use the services-copy/fax, gym,which-by the way is small, but most hotels charge for anyways (calling it a "spa"),notary, shuttle-you can recoup. Rooms were VERY clean, bed was comfy. Stayed on 7th floor. I would recommend spending the extra money to stay in the tower (I've never stayed in the courtyard, but had not so great experiences in other hotels). Front desk was pleasant & very helpful. I like the fact that check-out is at 12pm.

Needs improvement

The room was very nice. The price we paid was good too. The one thing that was not so good was the outside noise in the hallway.The door must not be very thick because we heard people all night coming and going and talking. This was very loud and interferred with our sleep many times.

Palace station hotel

Older hotel. No elevators & hidden convenience fees makes this hotel not worth the lower price they advertise. There are nicer hotels that are not far from their price range without the hidden convenience fees plus you don't have to climb the stairs with your luggage.

$16 a day resort fees? Too much!

Seems like every time I stay at Palace the fees are higher than the time before. A tip - if you are going to stay at Palace book yourself a tower room, the tower is easily a full star better than the courtyard. Really like night and day.

Surprise Cost

Everything was fine about the stay. However, I did find a water bottle in my room left from the previous occupant. The problem was at check out when I was hit with an extra fee that essentially doubled the cost of the room which was for services I didn't require; shuttle service, etc. In fairness to the hotel, I was told something at check in, but couldn't quite hear what was said. I did the old nod and smile, as it seemed to be one of those "this is stupid, but I'm required to tell you's" spoken in a monotone voice. I will not stay there again, nor would I recommend the hotel due to this hidden, extra fee.
