Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 31Art
The hotel is located on westport road wich is very art friendly. There was an art festival going on at the time we were there and it was amazing. There was live music and artists everywhere. There is also a good virety of food in the area. Try Jerselum Cafe its amazing! It was also within walking distance of the Nelson and the plaza. Great hotel and great people.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 31Decent hotel, but has problems
The hotel website and photos on here make the hotel seem better than it really is. The location is terrible in that its in a very confusing, clustered area (smack in the middle of westport). But if you want a place to stay within walking distance this is a good choice. Traffic around the hotel was awful, and with so many one way streets around the area its easy to get lost. There were also many drunk people walking around out front of the hotel as well as some loud drunk guests. The room was smallish, but clean and ok. The only problem with the room we had was the toilet barely worked (10 flushes for a tissue). We told the front desk and they assured us they would fix it when we left for lunch. Came back and it was still broken. That was definately an annoyance.

If your looking for a hotel near Westport, this is a real good choice. A nightlife is nearby. Price is fair. Make sure you call ahead and let them know your coming to confirm, especially if you booked through dotcom services. My dates got screwed up and had to change rooms. Everything turned out alright. Get the balcony room to see people get pulled over (he, he).

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 31Very nice hotel
We stayed at the hotel over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel is located in the Westport area of KC, so there are lots of restaurants and clubs in the immediate vicinty. Country Club Plaza is less than a mile to the south. So it's conveniently close to shopping and nightlife. The room was clean and comfortable, though a bit small. The decor of the whole hotel is trendy, and our room appeared freshly remodeled. The bed was very comfortable with a pillow top mattress. We had a new flat screen TV, but the TV was to the side of the bed which made viewing less comfortable. The hotel has free wi-fi that worked very well in the room. There are also some laptops in the lobby, as well. The staff were polite and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was good, but not excellent. The menu included omelettes, waffles, bagels, flavored instant oatmeal and other cereals, but no fresh fruit.

Rooms aren't huge, but they are very comfortable and nicely decorated. TV is nice (HD), service is great, everyone is very friendly. Would/will stay at again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 31Ok, but won't stay there again
Nicely updated older hotel. Hotels.com said that we would have a queen size bed, but when we got our room it was a full. The staff quickly upgraded us, no charge. The walls are very thin and you could hear all of what was going on next door - ugh. Supposed to be in good part of town, but there were 7 people shot on the corner down from the hotel!!

things started bad with a smallish room, but they gave us a bigger room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a plus along with the complimentary drinks.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 31Loved the Culture of Wesport
We were able to park our vehicle and walk to restaurants and music venues. The cocktail reception was wonderful and the bartender kept his cool while servicing two large wedding parties waiting for the shuttle/drinks. Breakfast was wonderful..thanks to our excellent chef...room was very small...we laughed when we opened the door and saw a bed/desk/tv but we did have a balcony which we used so we didn't feel so closed in. would definitely stay again..great staff and was greated warmly.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 31Bad employee
I went to the front desk to ask for a couple of forks, I was told to go to the hospitality room and ask for Tommy, when i got to the hospitality room there was a party going on, the guy outside the door was Tommy. I told him what the front desk told me ,he told me to go get it myself. That was very rude of him to ask me to barg in on someones party. He was also the same guy that was cooking breakfast that next morning, same thing rude as hell. This is the first time I have had this kind of service. I would have enjoyed my stay if it wasn't for this rude employee. The guy smelled like alcohol both times I encountered him.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 31Great hotel, great location
This hotel was very clean, with very friendly and helpful staff. The manager's reception in the evening and morning breakfast made it that much more pleasant (except they need a fan in the breakfast room - got a little smoky from the cooking). The location in the Westport area is perfect, with bars and restaurants right there, but it's also a short walk to the Plaza area. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 31Very nice hotel for the price
The Q hotel & spa was a great getaway for my wife and I on Valentine's day. The room was simple, but very nice. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on (and I've stayed in a LOT of hotels.) The services provided by the hotel were a definate plus. We took advantage of free happy hour drinks at the bar from 5:00 to 7:00 which was gratefully followed by the hotel shuttle service to and from the Plaza and then to the Power and Light District. Breakfast was simple, but really good. My wife had a made to order omelet and I had one of the best prepared waffles I've ever had, nice and crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside...perfect! We didn't take advantage of the spa, but will certainly do so the next time we stay there.
