Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 248Needs Improvement
My husband called for a disposable razor and he was told that someone would be right up and no one ever came or called. We tried a few times to call the front desk and the phone rang off the hook most of the time. Not enough shuttle times to and from Universal Studios. Registration - was slow but I give Kudos to the gentleman who checked me in.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 248Water Damage, No GFCI Recepts near sink, NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED
The staff here do an incredible job despite the meager facilities and tiny rooms for guests. Our room barely fit two DOUBLE beds not Queens and the bathroom's receptcle near the bathroom sink wasn't a GFI recep. The drywall above the shower in the bathroom appeared to have molded or rotted away and a patch was now doing the same. The people were very friendly but the room made me feel very unclean and we had a 2 night reservation but checked out the next day!!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 248Great Hotel
The hotel is great for the small price we paid. The pool and jacusi are very fun and clean. There are 2 things for improvement in my opinion. first, there are no shuttles for disney's theme parks, which is a bit difficult for those without a car. second, there is no breakfast, which actually rises the price of the hotel. Overall, it was very good.. recommended!

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 248Good Hotel
My husband and I have stayed there twice already and we can not complain. It is definitely a good hotel if you are just spending the night or even for the weekend. And if you are planning on going to Universal or Wet and Wild it's worth the stay, this hotel is literally right there from these parks. Would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel was previously the Clarion, which I stayed at in 2007. Since then, Best Western has taken over the hotel. The improvements are fantastic. In our hotel room, we had a mini refrigerator and microwave with the room. In addition, the deli downstairs now carries major brand products including Boar's Head meats and Vitamin water, both of which we love. The premises are still the same but they are great for the price. The restaurant down stairs is open late and it is fairly priced. There are two hot tubs, one pool, and plenty of free parking. This hotel is also one of our favorites because of its location on Universal Blvd. It is not difficult to get into or out of the hotel like it is on International Drive. It is just minutes to Universal and a short drive to Seaworld and Disney. Furthermore, the staff is so kind and helpful. I needed to print out my boarding pass for my flight and they gladly did it for free at the front desk. I wholeheartedly endorse this hotel and will stay here again on my next visit to Orlando.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 248Great room for the money
The staff was great they changed my room to a pool view at no addtional cost I was able to leave the windows shades open and watch the kids in the pool without having to be be out there! the location is very close to Universal about 2 mins away and about five mins away from a super walmart. I love the fact they have free parking! they only thing they are missing is the free continental breakfast!!!!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 248Extras that you wouldn't expect.
The Best Western Gateway Orlando had way more than we expected and way more than we could take advantage of in the on night that we stayed here. We were just looking for a place close to Universal Studios. Aside from a place to rest our heads, we also hoped for a pool for our two kids to swim in should they get the time to do so. But this Best Western not only had a pool and hot tub, but also a complete "parent paradise" that we didn't look into and only realized the size of this paradise when overlooking it from our room. Our room was a basic two full size beds and a bathroom. There was a table and two chairs, nothing special,...about what you'd expect from any Best Western. But their were extras that you wouldn't get at just any hotel. We opted for the additional mini fridge and microwave in our room, and we were surprised to find a widescreen TV. The TV was a bit unresponsive to the remote, but with a little patience we were able to see view the basics. Also, if we had so chosed to, the TV came hooked up to an integrated game system (gamecube?). There were also the additional cost buys from the TV that we also didn't take advantage of. The hotel doesn't have a Wi-Fi hotspot throughout, which was a bit dissappointing, but their was a small room with 2 computers downstairs that were connected to the internet for guest to use. The hotels lobby was huge and it's employees were friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed. The lobby restrooms had the extravagance that you would only expect from the upper tier hotels. There is a mini store within the hotel that sells the very basic necessities, and you can also order takeout from here which is connected to the hotel's restaurant, which we also didn't have time to try out. We did make a big mistake while staying here. There are several local pizza joints that walk through the hotel, shoving menus with coupons under every door. One of them that we found had some great coupons and boasted "the best italian food in O

My husband and I were pretty impressed by the hotel. I really don't have any complaints about the Hotel. I would stay there again if I was to visit Orlando again. The price was good, and the location was great for us!

The hotel overall including the service was fine. However our room smelled moldy, the closet door was loose and the bathroom needed serious updating. The shower tiles and fixtures had visible, black mold.
