Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 189Good hotel - with some flaws
Overall this was a good hotel/casino with plenty of things to do. Rooms were clean, but the temperature thermostat wasn't working properly so we'd either freeze or get too hot. Beds were comfy but awfully high off the floor!

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 189NIce, but could be better,
My family stayed for 3 days. In the past 2 years we would walk to the Tropicana from another hotel for the IMAX movie and a favorite restaurant. This year we decided to stay at the hotel. The tv remote didn't work, the bath tub back up and the elevators took forever. Two mornings we waited over 20 minutes for an elevator. It seemed that 2 were working and were packed when they did come. That's the curse for being on a lower floor. We ended up going up to go down. There are not many choices for a good sit down breakfast. The coffee shop is good when you can get in. Also, the Tropicana is one of the outer casinos on the boadwalk. If you want to see the rest of the boadwalk or shop at the mall or outlet stores, you'll be doing a lot of walking. We did enjoy the casino floor and the shops.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 189needs improvement
check in was a 45min. line with some still in line longer than that.the bed was very hard and the way the room was set up you could not watch the tv from the bed and to watch from the table and chairs you needed to move them to the other side of the room.the chairs were to short for the table.the view was well worth the price, both ocean and bay views. overall we had a nice stay.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 189Hotel nice; staff cold
decent room, price was average, location of hotel front is on the boardwalk but the Havana Tower is a long walk away; restaurants are pricey; shops are pricey; people are very unfriendly. I wasn't upset that it took 1/2 hour to check-in; I still was upset when we needed to come back at 4 for the room keys (check in was a 2 and we were there at 2);bell capt said to call for luggage when we were in the room, which i did, which took 20 minutes just to get through to desk and then 45 minutes on hold and they never got back on the phone; walked down to lobby, a good 15 minute trip only to find out it would be at least 2 hours until our luggage was brought up; we carried it ourselves. None of this would have been an issue if they had just picked up the phone after a minute and said how busy they were. No one was helpful or friendly; they staff seemed not to care whether you liked it or not.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 189check-in is Hell! Especially their attitude with hotel.com guests
I came in with my parents and my fiance for a two night stay. When we arrived at 1pm there was a long line. When I finally got to check-in they told me they have two rooms that are connecting for me and my fiance and my parents, but I would have to come back after 4pm to get the keys, this was around 2pm. So we left and went to have lunch. When we came back at around 4:30. They gave me two room keys and said they are not connecting. I asked why because they just told me differently two hours ago. They told me nothing is garenteed, especially for guests who booked their rooms with an outside service such as hotels.com. We were taken back by their ruid attitude, and asked Why? They are bring business to you. But the lady just replied we are only getting a small cut. They further told us that since our room's second night had booked with a second reservation, that we would have to check out the next day, and check back in. So I do recommend that you do not make two reservations for guests staying two nights in a row.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 189Good place to stay
We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay. Service is good and the rooms are very clean. My one complaint is sometimes room service carts sit in the hall for hours and,on my last trip, there were bottles and glasses in the elevator. If you like the beach you must walk through part of the shopping area or casino to get to the boardwalk/beach area. Still, I would recommend staying here, especially on weekdays.
