Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 21Not really the best hotel
The hotel can definitely improve. We didnt even have shampoo and soap at the bath tub. No free drinking water available. Not many people were there.

This was a great last-minute find. The staff were helpful, rooms were clean and the hotel grounds are beautiful. All at a great price too!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 21If you like an old mansion....
If you like an old building such as castle style hotels etc, you'll like it. Though there is state route 82 right next to this hotel, it's quiet. It has also Edenvale Garden Park on the other side. Only 15 min drive from San Jose downtown. However it seems to be used for some convention or graduation ceremony etc often... When you have like this events on the same day to stay, you would be tired of waiting to check in at the front desk... I like an old architecture. So I enjoyed looking at the stained-glass on the ceiling at the entrance hall. I just didn't have chance to take a look their dining room. I heard their dining room was also pretty.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 21can't wait to go back!
We had so much fun at the Dolce- Hayes Mansion. The place is beautiful, interesting, comfortable and clean! It was the best rate available while I was searching on Hotels.com. We just wanted to be able to go somewhere and swim, but I am so glad we didn't settle for the average hotel. The food was great, the staff, the grounds. Very nice place for kids. Ours are 4 and 5, and many other families had even younger kids.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 21Great Hotel, off the beaten path location
We found this hotel at the last minute, on our way back from Lake Tahoe. I must say that I thought we had the wrong directions, when we got off the freeway and headed into the residential neighborhood. But sure enough, there was the mansion located at the end of the block. Beautiful grounds and a very interesting 3-story mansion. Rooms were very nice and the kids loved the pool and spa. If you don't mind being a little bit away from everything, the special rate was great and the grounds around the mansion were a great departure from the typical hotel and parking lot. Great for small or larger groups, as they turned many of the rooms of the mansion into meeting rooms.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 21Wierd Location...but soooooooo peaceful!!!
When I booked the hotel I definitely wasn't expecting to be in a residential neighborhood but don't let that deter you in the least bit. The grounds a spectactular, squirrels running around the property so much fun to be in the environment. I'd stay there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 21Great Family Outing
We wanted to surprise our kids with an overnight stay that included a lovely pool for them to swim in. They enjoyed every moment of the trip -- from arriving and seeing the beautiful mansion, to swimming for hours in the pool and spa, to chasing squirrels in the park nearby. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and nobody minded when we explored the grounds, inside and out. We would definitely stay there again!

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 21Pleasant surprise
Some of the reviews on DHM are overstating any negatives. We were quite pleased--very comfortable rooms/beds. Bathrooms were clean but could use a makeover- but then the rates would be higher. The neighborhood is middle class- suburban, nice park adajacent to hotel. A bargain as far as we were concerned. If you have a noisy neighbor upstairs, the footsteps could get on your nerves- true almost anywhere you go. Lovely grounds, happy bridal parties everywhere. Nit pick: lobby could be a bit brighter-gives wrong initial impression.
