Wonderful Hotel

The location was very idyllic and relaxing. The rooms were very comfortable and the verandah was a nice surprise. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Need just simple smile to see

I couldn’t book hotel at down town San Jose day before ½ marathons. Just I needed some where very close to San Jose down town to get race. Hotel location was very quiet place next to park, easy access to 101 freeways, 10min to San Jose down town if you drive a car 75miles/h speed from hotel. There was no computer for guest use, no simple maps at front disk. It wasn’t friendly welcome feeling when I checked in time of 6pm. No smile on face or voice. I went out for dinner because I didn’t want disappointed with unfriendly services at hotel restaurant. Big party of wedding was going on Saturday, I was getting ready for race next day but loud music kept going on some where above my room until 11:45pm. I guess I picked wrong time to stay.

Home away from home

We enjoy our stay at the Dolce Hayes and especially the Spa and coffee. We have stayed here many times since it is close to family and we visit every 2 months at least. Love their coffee and staff help.

Hard to find but worth it.

I don't know the San Jose area well, so maybe it was just me. I had a hard time finding the place. Once there, we were very happy with the hotel, grounds, and the breakfast. It was much more than we expected. We are planning a trip to the Winchester House sometime soon and will definately stay at the Dolce hayes mansion again.

Good Hotel but Poor Initial Greeting

When we checked in the clerk did not explain clearly how to get to our room. We roamed the halls with our luggage and finally had to walk back to the front desk which was in another building. It made me feel foolish but I had to find our room. Someone had to show us the door which did not clearly indicate rooms were behind this door. The signs were on a wall behind the direction we were walking. I recommend the hotel put these signs on the door or in both directions. Also the cletk at the front desk did not give us our free breakfast coupons, and did not explain we had to be there by 10am. This young lady was not very friendly, but she was polite. The service at breakfast was outstanding !!!

A Hidden Treasure in San Jose

I would recommend the Dolce Hays Mansion to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay. Great price,wonderful breakfast and staff.We will be going back next time we are in San Jose.Get directions from the Hotel or online, it is hidden in a residential area.

Great room at a budget motel price

The hotel was a first class hotel. Nice room, location, property well kept, and friendly staff. My only complaint was of the sandpaper bath towels in the room like one would find in a budget motel. Other than that it was great. My girlfriend and I do plan to return for many more visits.

something different

I was looking for something different and it sure was different. The grounds are well kept but the location is so so, the parking lot is full of sings that says they are not reponsible for any theft or valdelisim to your car, that kinda worried me, but thankfully nothing happened. Knowing you are exahusted from your trip U came to find a bottle of water in the room that says if you touch this you will be charged $4 dollars. give me a break four dollars for a bottle of water! I didn't like that, after all that is not how you would treat a guest at your home. Overall the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable and quite.

Hidden Gem in San Jose

Stayed overnight to avoid driving back to the Peninsula during a 2-day stay in San Jose for a sport event at the Ice Center. Fantastic hotel. Huge rooms. Very quiet and comfortable. Nice and reasonably priced buffet. Great value. Lots of charm. Thinking of coming again to stay over for the weekend. My 7-year old daughter did not want to leave.
