It had been 10 years since the last time I was at the Luxor. The hallway and guest room I was exposed to on this trip didn't look like any improvements or upkeep had been made to the property since the last time I was there. Admittedly, I selected the hotel because of the "deal" but I still expected a room that wasn't so dark, dreary, musty-smelling, and which had a door with a peephole where you could see who stood on the other side. To their credit, when I complained about the condition of the room and why I was leaving after being there less than 2 hours, the hotel agreed not to charge me for the second day of my reservation. I think they shouldn't be charging anyone to stay there until they renovate the rooms, but I will give them credit for agreeing to refund a portion of my prepaid reservation without any resistance.

This hotel needs major renovation. The hotel design lacks comfort and class. Felt like a motel.

This hotel charges a 'resort fee' of $12.25 per night above and beyond the room charge for a couple of bottles of water. I wouldn't recommend it.

The Luxor is very much down at the heels - even the tower rooms, which the hotel states were "renovated" in 2005, look like a grim Holiday Inn from 1985. There are far nicer hotels on the strip for not much more money - highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Arrived at about 10:30 am and was told I have to wait till 11:00am to check in, I didn't waiting but was told in a rude and cold manner, I guess when you get big, one person does not really matter.
