Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 21Small but fashionable hotel - Awesome location
Hotel almost blends into the street, drove by twice before seeing it! Interior is very chic and trendy without trying too hard. Standard rooms are VERY small but nicely decorated with the usual exspensive mini-bar. On the downside, the bathrooms have no fans and only a sliding door which is an arm length away from the bed. Parking is $18 per overnight stay. We were accidently charged for an extra parking night but the front desk was very friendly and quickly corrected the bill at checkout. You really can't beat the location of the hotel, it's well situated a few blocks down from the Fairmont Hotel and a very enjoyable half mile stroll to the HP Pavilion (which we made to see a Sharks game on a Saturday night). Overall, this is a great hotel for a short stay in San Jose.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 21Alittle hot but perfect
I held a bachelorette party here, and his place was great. classy, antique, and beautiful decor. seriously I would totaly repeat the stay for a romantic evening. Only problem is that the air conditioner broke and we didnt know it until the stripper got there. He was alllllllll sweaty and not in a good way. lol. well they gave us a bigger room which was great cause the first part of the party was over. Thank you montgomery

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 21Great Stay at Montgomery!
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Montgomery. The staff was great and the rooms were both furnished beautifully. The bathrooms were huge and nicely appointed as well. I will stay here again if back in San Jose.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 21Perfect for us
We were in town for a show at the Performing Arts Center and wanted to go for dinner/drinks before and after. The hotel is nice and clean and it was a nice walk to good restaurants and on to the venue. After the show another short walk to where the clubs are. Finished the night at the club in the hotel and it was a great night.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 21Very Happy
Hotel Montgomery is a great value in a great location. I had a wonderful weekend in downtown San Jose and didn't need a car at all! We walked to the Sharks game, walked to museums and restaurants and simply enjoyed a non-driving weekend; a refreshing change for a southern californian.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 21Very Nice BUT......
My wife and I stayed at the Montgomery to go to the Sharks game, have dinner afterward and stay in SJ without having to drive home. We got back to the hotel at 11PM only to find the Mosaic loaded with 20-30 year old's and music that was so loud I had to yell at the front desk clerk to communicate with him. We were on the second floor on the opposite side of the hotel from the restaurant and bar but we still had the bass sound and vibration coming from the music in the bar. Anyone who had a room on the same side as the bar on the 2nd floor would not have been able to sleep. As it was I couldn't sleep between the music and the crowd making it's way in and out to the bar from the street below. I had a horrible nights sleep thanks to this brilliant decision by someone in hotel management to allow this to go on. This was a Saturday night and if you are planning on staying on a Friday or Saturday I would make sure this isn't going to be going on when your there. Otherwise, ask for a high floor room on the parking lot side of the hotel or better yet, stay somewhere else.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 21Great Value
Stayed at the hotel on a Saturday night and the price was very reasonable. It is in an excellent downtown location, close to shops, restaurants, etc. Room a bit small but adequate. Very clean, well appointed, safe, and quiet. I would definitely stay again on my next trip.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 21Quaint Hotel in a Great Location!
I would definately stay at this hotel again. The staff was very accommodating and the ease of getting around the hotel is superb. I was disappointed that room service closed early, sometimes you need to eat at an ungodly hour, especially when downtown and close to so many bars! It is within walking distance of all there is to do in Downtown which is nice. The hotel is very quaint and nestled in a good area. If you are looking for a place with a view I would suggest somewhere else, as there is only 4 stories here. And since you are closer to the streets there is some street noise that can be heard but not enough to bother. As I said before I will definately stay here again!
